Although I chose to book Kingsgate my stay was not a good experience. I found the reception staff very helpful. On entering the lift I could feel and see property not maintained. My room only offered a shower over the bath which was impossible for me to navigate. High bath for a 86 year old with no grab rails. Room was not cleaned well. Crumbs from my first night crackers were still on the floor 3 days later. Bed not made one day. Carpark access below the hotel was tricky to access. The slant of the ground made it difficult to open car doors once parked. Disappointing stay. Would not recommend.

Despite the website advertising a bar and restaurant there were neither only a breakfast room. The 25NZD parking per night also comes as a surprise ! The hotel is typical 3 star but beginning to look a little tired. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast simple but adequate.
