The location of this little motel is lovely across the street from Cowichan Bay and many rooms have nice ocean views. The staff is what makes the place shine as they are very friendly and go out of their way to make the guests feel welcomed and satisfied.

The Wessex Inn was a good, convenient place to stay. We were upgraded to a room with a view which was greatly appreciated. The hotel is being renovated but there were no disruptive noises or mess.

The gentleman at reception was very friendly and proud of the property. Room was updated and modern. The “ocean view” was not panoramic but the hotel is directly across the street from the water so not far to go to capture a full view. Easily walkable to the quaint shops and eateries in Cowichan Bay.

The staff made us feel very welcome right from the start. They were very helpful in accommodating our early arrival. Their instructions regarding the property were very clear. The place was spotless. The location is excellent, just across from the water and a nice park. Walking distance to cafes, bakery, restaurants etc. We definitely will return and highly recommend Wessex Inn.

They are doing what they can with this old building. Some suites have been upgraded, but some sweets are very old smaller flat screens have been installed. The mattresses are newer. The bedding is clean. The towels are clean. Just don’t look too close at the bathroom floor, but surprisingly the shower surround was redone and clean.

Nice peekaboo views of the ocean. The patios are small but good for drying out wet clothes. The kitchen had all we needed. The patio doors need repair. There’s a nice little walkway along the bay. Check out Oliver’s restaurant for patio dining. The Wessex staff are really fantastic.
