Loved our stay here. The manager was very friendly and helpful. Helping us with cases and good information about Dover. Room was lovely with chairs and table in a small bay window. Highly recommend this guest house as it’s an easy walk to shops, sights, eating places and the railway station.

Liked the feel of staying in a real Brit house vs. impersonal hotel. Views were great. Hosts were lovely and extremely helpful. They went out of their way to accommodate our early arrival which was very much appreciated.

It was in perfect location to walk and see town. Very friendly staff. Help get transportation. It was a great stay. Room was on 4th floor and no lift, so if mobility issue it won't work. Will stay here next time we are in Dover

Dover does it

Arriving in Dover earlier than checkin our host was kind enough to let us sign in early. Location was perfect for our arrival by train and departure bia bus. Both were an easy walk as was our walk to town center. Host wad very attentive and helpful

A wonderful place to stay in Dover!

We really liked this guesthouse in Dover. I had asked if we could drop our luggage off around 11:30 so we could go to Dover Castle. Our host was very accommodating. We arrived back about 4:00 to check in and that was smooth. Our room was large, with a table and chairs in front of a large window facing the street. The room and bathroom were sparking clean and stocked with everything we needed. The guesthouse is a short walk to town and lots of restaurants. Our host gave us some suggestions of places to eat, which was helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Well located but noisy

Great location in Dover, walkable to town centre, cliffs and Dover Priory station. We were in room 6 which was at the front of the property on the top floor, two flights of stairs, no lift, which is normal in English properties. The room was a very good size and spotlessly clean. Towels were changed daily and bins emptied. Bed is comfortable. Host and daughter are very friendly and helpful. The only downside we found was the traffic noise from main road and very loud seagulls, when the windows are closed it is quiet but you need to use the fan which is very effective but sounds like a small aircraft, either way you will need sleep earplugs or noise cancelling earbuds to sleep

Sandra, our host, was amazing. She ensured we had everything we needed and made us a hearty breakfast to start our day. Our host carried our luggage both up and down the stairs for us and we were on the top floor. This was greatly appreciated. If you cannot manage stairs, this would not be the property for you. As noted in the booking platform, there is no elevator. The Maison Dieu is conveniently located and within walking distance of many restaurants, Dover Castle, Cliffs of Dover and the waterfront.
