Made the regrettable mistake of not reading the reviews on this property before booking. On review says “If you’re looking for a place that combines the charm of a haunted house with the ambiance of a truck stop bathroom, look no further than the Downtown Dover Inn”. Sadly, this description doesn’t even begin to capture the full extent of its deplorable conditions. From the overwhelming stench and lack of cleanliness in the room to serious safety concerns throughout the property … this place should be torn down! Also, very disappointed in Expedia for continuing to associate with and promote this property. It’s unacceptable that a platform I have trusted would list accommodations in such unacceptable condition.

For a nonsmoking property, there were a lot of smokers outside the guest rooms, making everything in the motel smell like cigarettes. There were a bunch of kids just hanging out on the sidewalk and outside guest rooms day and night. Pool was closed for maintenance.

The inn was okay for the price. Room was clean. The rug was stained from lots of use and needs good cleaning. Bathroom was brand new. Excellent condition. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable.

I choose this because another Expedia hotel in town canceled my room. The room was spartan a real no tell motel the continental breakfast was disgusting old fruit the toaster didn’t work and the coffee was horrible no butter either I didn’t dare try the milk or oh and the. Oatmeal was past it’s expiration date

This property was recently bought by a family and they’re trying to turn the place around from when it was once The Days Inn and pretty rundown. They were very friendly and helpful at check in and check out. Our beds were very clean and comfortable. The rest of the experience was average just because the building and facilities need some TLC. We also went to check out the breakfast and it doesn’t seem like they have that fully dialed in yet… so do not count on breakfast. There is a great cafe across the street! Again super friendly and helpful fine for one night if you want to be able to access a walkable situation in downtown Dover.

Save your money! Pool isn’t heated. Gluten free items and Tea aren’t offered in complimentary breakfast. Bedding had dirt stain.

I enjoyed my two night stay here while in town for a conference. The area was quiet and the room was clean. The bathroom had recently been updated and looked new. The location was very convenient. I plan to stay here again for my next conference. The value was also very good.

The shower handle was missing for the shower, the staircase going up to our room was rusty and u can see through the steps, the rugs were filthy. The pool was closed. We were in town for a going away party I would not have stayed more than one night!
