A nicely decorated room, with beautiful view out to sea. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Staff friendly. Lack of a lift would deter those who struggle with stairs. The rooms are lovely but the corridors are narrow and the stairs steep, I was 56 stair-steps from the road. They can't solve those problems caused by the architectural features of the building but it would be beneficial to restore lift service
We enjoyed our week"s stay at Trevelyan. We stayed in a basic double room, which was good for us. The daily breakfast was great - full English breakfast or scrambled eggs on toast, with tea/coffee, toast and jam and assorted cereals - perfect. The staff were very attentive during breakfast.
For us, Trevelyan was perfectly situated between the Electric Railway and central Douglas just half a mile away.
Would recommend.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Great location on the promenade, very old property lift was broken, Mould smell in room. manageress was nice.
This is old property and as such doesn't have all the facilities modern property has. Nevertheless everything was clean, if not a little compact, due to two additional beds in the room. Obviously no room for anywhere to sit comfortably. Ideal for the short break and value for money. Excellent simple but full English breakfast. Comfy beds.
It's a very clean hotel, the ownership is very friendly and helpful. It is not a modern cookie cutter hotel or building. It is the Victorian era. It is not fancy in modern terms. The stairs are steep and narrow, they way they were done at the time it was built. I would like more lighting on them. Breakfasts were good and satisfying. I had plenty of hot water.
I opted for a single room with shared bathroom, which worked for me. The bathroom was up a flight of stairs so won't suit everyone. The staff team are great and look after you very well, and the breakfast was good and freshly cooked. All in all it was a good experience staying here

The property was in a fine state of repair. The lady looking after it could not have been more helpful. It was warm and clean.
A very pleasant stay. A great option for a budget hotel. The room was small but well laid out with everything I needed. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. Breakfast was good - a pleasant full English with cereals, juice, and a good jug of coffee. Good seafront location and convenient for the electric railway and some nearby bars and restaurants. An enjoyable 25 min walk along the seafront to the town centre, and there were also buses. Good value for money.

Hotel was accommodating for late ferry arrival.
Was fair enough for 3*

Good Towels and shower,
adequate breakfast, no bar,
no tea/coffee in the room, poor TV.
Good to see it in operation where many close by have shut

Lift not in use. Booked before we knew. Main reason we booked as both of us struggle with stairs. Booked through hotels .com. and they state lift not in use overnight. My fault as i didn't check on the hotel site. They did show lift out of action. Lesson learnt. Bathroom very small and dated. Room basic as expected, clean and had kettle etc.
Breakfast was included. Juice, cereal, bacon etc. Very good. Asked for a slight change and it was no problem. Delia the lady was amazing. Nothing too much trouble. She moved us to a first floor room after explaining the problem with stairs. Bar not open. Shame as it would have been nice to have a nightcap and perhaps a chat with other guests.
Overall a basic hotel. No frills. Service and staff very good.

Room was basic but that's what I'd paid for;
view of the sea was fantastic. Breakfast was very good and cooked freshly although time window for breakfast was very narrow being between 8.30 and 9.00 although there did seem to be a little flexibility. The person serving was very friendly and accommodating.
Bus stops close by so easy to get around although could walk to amenities.
