Excellent location

Location of the hotel is excellent, 2 minute walk from the Trainstation, also possible to walk to citycenter from hotel. Hotell is good and excellent bed.

Another great stay

Everyone staff member are very friendly and helpful. Check in was quick and efficient. At the reception they are happy to help with everything. 3 minutes away from the main station and 5 minutes away from the city centre.

The rooms were clean and the staff was nice. In my second week there, the manager kindly offered me to move to a lower floor into a double room, which was nice.

Great hotel!

Had a great time at Big MAMA in Dortmund. Staff were friendly and very helpful, room was great and it’s a great spot for getting about in the city easily.

The hotel is opposite a hardcore techno club called Prismatic. The first night the room vibrated from 10pm until 7am; it felt and sounded like techno Viking was trying to break in. Would recommend bringing ear plugs. The rooms are very basic and the carpets have seen much better days. Convenient for the station but the area is certainly ‘characterful’.

"Pay at Hotel" option is a LIE

Despite I reserved as "Pay at the Hotel" 2.5 months before my stay, they immediately charged the full amount to my card. I sent several emails but no answer. I called Hotels.com guest service to get help. The called the hotel but the hotel staff said their system doesn't allow to cancel the charge. Great... thank you for misleading your customers.

It was clean and comfortable. The downside was that the room was very small and it was very warm - although there was a fan. As there was a kettle and coffee maker, it would have been good to have had some tea bags/coffee

Good Value with Nice Breakfast

The hotel had recently changed names and evidently upgraded some of the facilities. Overall, the superior single that I had was very comfortable, and although not a large room was perfect for one person. Very nice bathroom with full shower, including rain head. The breakfast was very plentiful and tasty. A wide variety of cold salads on the breakfast bar, along with eggs and sausages. They noted they had gluten-free and I saw some muesli and one package of some sort of wafers, but I did not see any gluten-free bread or anything else or a mention of it. Also, unlike most hotels, the orange juice at this location was very watered down and odd compared to other places I have been recently. With those two minor comments, overall the breakfast facility is very well maintained as a great selection of food and I would definitely return.

Great option for a group of four adults. Large with two bathrooms made our stay comfortable. The door only locked with the key so if someone didn’t go with the rest of the group we had to schedule ourselves to be back at the same time or it leave the apartment. Two keys would be nice. That was the only down side.

The person in the front was absolutely awful. I was forced to pay for breakfast. He told me it was “included” in the stay however I had to pay for it. I couldn’t move forward without paying for it. I booked my room on Expedia and didn’t have to pay this at all on their site. I’ve stayed at hotels all over the world and this is the first time I’ve been told I HAVE to pay for breakfast that I’m not even gonna eat.

Charged me 40 Euros for a child even though the 3rd and the 4th guest were free. The reason was that they were going to put a special bed for the child. That was not the case, i have photos and videos which i wish i could share. Cleaning staff was understaffed, our room was not ready on time. Another day had to ask twice for towels. Talking about understaffed, the receptionists were also the bartenders LOL. If you wanted a drink at the bar you had to wait for the receptionist to finish check-in people or guests questions. They had this system to open the door with an app which half of the time it wasn't working. I asked for a physical key and was told that they could not give more than one... but then I saw another family receiving multiple keys. Other than that, the location was great.
