Great place to stay, easy for us to access Dorchester and Weymouth. Staff were all terrific, made the stay very welcoming. The room was lovely and comfortable (tiny bits of upkeep needed in the bathroom was my only point of feedback!) Would 100% recommend and stay again.

The staff were friendly and efficient The room was tastefully decorated and very clean although there were a couple of things could do with a tidy up and could do with some shelving in the bathroom. Food was excellent.

Nice big room and en suite. However, the decoration could do with attention (peeling wall paper and bath panel) Lovely comfy bed and pillows. Tea/coffee, biscuits & water but these were not topped up for our second night stay.

The evening meal was excellent. Very comfortable beds and a great shower and bathroom. Breakfast was from 9am from a menu and therefore a relaxing start to the day.

Really nice pub just outside Dorchester. Friendly staff that were helpful. The food is simple, yet very tasty and the carvery on Sunday was an unexpected treat when we got back from a day out.

Pros: Friendly staff Free biscuits Reasonably clean Bottled water provided in the room Cons: The noisiest place I have ever stayed, as the hotel is located on the main road in the area and the sash windows are poorly insulated, making it impossible to sleep from about 4 a.m. onwards. All rooms face the main road. (I would suggest replacing the windows with properly sealed, soundproof glass, which is not significantly more expensive.) The room was set up for two people, but we were three. As a result: Not enough cups, spoons, or towels were provided Hand wash was not checked and had to be requested as there was very little left Insufficient body wash and shampoo Very little toilet paper remaining (see picture) Only towels for two people were supplied

Great place for a stopover on our way to Cornwall. Easy to find with easy parking and a good breakfast. Room was clean & tidy with a great shower! It is located right on the A35 so if you’re looking for peace & quiet this may not be for you. We found it ok as we were exhausted from a long drive.

Lovely place, we arrived late though, so didn't get to try the bar or food and left early so didn't get to try breakfast, but the place was well kept, so I'm sure it would have been great.

Not a place for breakfast…..more brunch

I’ve stayed before and came back again as the bar area and food was good as was the breakfast! The rooms are nice , just a little bit cobwebby and dusty. However, the main issue, which is what will make me not return is the crazy time breakfast “Starts”……which is 10am?!? At first I thought that was the end time, but I was corrected and told it was 10 because not a lot of people want it before then? I think this eliminates a lot of people who are there for work. I was told that a local Greggs would be open….. Really a shame as the food/Beer is great but this decision is bonkers!

The person who greeted me (gentleman) wasn’t exactly helpful. Found my question regarding breakfast to be really odd as if I was asking something out of the ordinary for a hotel! The room was nice, mattress not quite so, but overall no problems and it’s great for an overnight stay. The main issue is that being an old coach house on a busy road if you’re a light sleeper you’re likely to be disturbed. Ate in the restaurant which was excellent. Went elsewhere for breakfast purely based on the interaction the day before.

Bed was comfortable but unfortunately the general cleanliness of the room could be improved I.e lots of cobwebs which for the price we paid we didn’t expect to see. Kitchen closed at 7pm and no other pubs locally or takeaways to get food. Had to use the local garage.
