One of my favorite hotels. It’s clean, the swimming pool is nice, and the staff is very kind. There are many beautiful beaches nearby. They also have an electric outlet available for charging electric cars, which is very convenient.

Bedroom for 4 persons of a really good size, clean.,,, Fauna and flora amazing from Ants marching with leaves to their bunker to iguanas al over the place, beach at easy reach! Little gem

Loved this place so much we changed our plans and stayed for another night! The restaurant is fantastic (recommend the croc burger) and swimming pool is great. Aircon keeps the nights cool and is a well kept place!

Villas are located front of the Barú river. About half a km from the beach. No nature trails in the property, but you can hang out and swim in the river.

This is a really nice property with a good restaurant on site. We loved our room and the property. The food was good. Our room was clean and quiet. We stayed 3 nights and it was very relaxing and fun. The hotel is located 1/2 mile down a very rough gravel road. This didn't bother us and we were glad to be out of downtown Domincal. We walked in to the beach every day. We would recommend this place for sure and would stay there again.

Villas Rio Mar has a convenient location in Dominical ; about 10 min walk to town / 3 min drive and 20 min walk to the beach / 7 min drive. The small cabanas are cute and comfortable. The pools are nice to enjoy after days at the beach. The restaurant is good and has very nice staff and the breakfast is good. The only thing we found when comparing to the multiple other places we stayed at is that its operated too much like a resort and too little like other places in Costa Rica (cozier / pura vida / more homey like).

We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful. The pools are nice. We loved our room and patio. Everything was very clean. The restaurant food was very good. The property is located about 1/2 mile down a very rough gravel road. We didn’t mind the location and walked to the beach each morning and evening. The front desk staff was a little less welcoming than some of the places we have been in Costa Rica but it was adequate. The restaurant staff was super friendly and fun. We would definitely stay there again.

Garden haven

Great location, walkable from downtown. It has really quiet surroundings, only birds making a ruckus! The food was really very good, and there were large portions. One day they lost my order and so I waited 45 minutes for breakfast, but they made up for it with some home made avocado toast. 2 pools that were both absolutely amazing. One is a lap pool, and the other a nice large pool with a deep end, great amount of space for swimming. Nice patio with a sink, fridge, and table/chairs. Would recommend a table and chair inside the room as well. Would also ask for eco shampoo and body wash available.

Property was very nice. Pool was great. Rooms had lovely air conditioning. Breakfast was a plus. Coffee was only so so. There was one manager or employee in the dining/bar area that was not helpful, boarding on rude. He was older with glasses. We were a party of 6 and my sons girlfriend was the only person who was asked for her room number at the buffet. Mind you we had been there 3 days already. One evening she went to the bar to get a water and he wouldn’t sell it to her. Not sure what his problem was but it needs to be addressed. We understand basic Spanish but he would only say “No”. If I had heard about it at the time I would have spoken to the front desk myself.

The good: The lush vegatation around the room area is really nice. Lots of birds and small animals. The bad: The poor maintenance. No hot water. A/C didn't work the first night. Stained bed sheets. Rude reception staff.
