They've been updating the property into more of a resort and it's looking great. We were there on Halloween night and they had activities in the courtyard area, music s'mores - a very relaxing evening. Accommodations were updated and the bed very comfortable. Probably my first on the checklist is a good bed.

Property was lovely and those views were amazing! Only downside was the workers. But that is just a part of the huge renovations they are undertaking. Can't wait to see it when it is done. However, my husband and I may have to book again before the renovations are complete. Loved it.

The Dillard House Restaurant was wonderful! We did breakfast and dinner, both meals offered plenty of tasty, southern style food at a reasonable price. The pool was exceptionally clean. We had a nice and spacious suite. Great place for a weekend visit.

Very clean and newly remodeled room with a spacious bathroom. Beautiful landscaping and fantastic views of the mountains and valleys. There is ongoing construction activities and equipment that detracts from the peaceful and natural beauty of the grounds. The most disappointing aspect of our stay was the mediocre tasteless food that we encountered when we ate dinner at the restaurant. The Dillard House in past years had an outstanding reputation for their delicious country home cooked family style meals. Over the past fifty years, and especially in the 1970’s and 80’s, we have stayed there many times and enjoyed wonderful tasty and generously served meals. The new and current owners and management need to address this situation by resurrecting all of the original Dillard recipes with fresh grown produce and meats and then hiring the cooks(Chef’s) that can replicate the old traditional, tasty meals that made the Dillard House so exceptional.

Property is going through major renovations, Our room was clean but very dated, pictures of the property did not represent what we experienced. I would not stay with this property again until construction is complete. The service and staff were very professional and friendly.

The resort WILL be beautiful when completed. Right now, not much to offer. Unfortunately we got placed in a lodge unit that had not been renovated yet (even though there were available rooms in the newer section ?!?) I figure we got that room due to booking through a 3rd party site. It was fairly clean minus a few spider webs (you could tell the room hadn’t been used in awhile). Construction noise was not bad considering it was directly beside us. The restaurant was ok, we had ate there many years ago and had a delicious southern family style meal, the food was average this time. They need to focus more on the “southern cooking” made from scratch dishes. It seemed they were short staffed as well. I will definitely consider returning in the future once all renovation is complete, I do believe the resort could be something special when all amenities are available, the concept they are working towards is great. Overall we had a nice relaxing 3 days there, beautiful area and very close to North Carolina and the Smokey mountains!

The main lobby and restaurant are amazing; the staff were extremely helpful and kind. It really comes down to which building you stay in. We stayed in Valley View and when we walked in, there was a paper canvas left on the floor where some faculty had obviously been painting recently. I want to say there was a timeless charm, but honestly it just felt dated. There was also a cricket chirping in our room all night that we were unable to find and unable to ignore.

Always look forward to my stay, away from the busyness of Atlanta. Yes, the property is under renovation… however, the restaurant, bar, lobby are absolutely beautiful. They have done an amazing job. Accommodations were comfortable, cozy with a rocking chair in the porch overlooking a meadow, mountain in the background and silence. I come for the silence, peaceful beauty and amazing staff.
