“I recently stayed at the Grand Eastern Hotel in Labasa and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I booked for two nights but had to check out a day early due to a serious maintenance issue. The bathroom hand basin pipe was damaged and leaking continuously, creating a loud noise that made it impossible for my family to sleep. “The staff were very nice and our bure was nice and clean. However, they fail to mention that they run on a generator and there is no power between 11am and 4pm. We had an outdoor shower that was nice but couldn't get any water pressure or hot water reliably. Sometimes the water was hot for 30 seconds, sometimes not at all. When you're constantly going into the ocean, you need a reliable shower to wash off the salt and sand. The restaurant had good breakfast, but no free coffee or tea. The...

“Nice location and brilliant view. But I wouldn't recommend Daku Resort to anyone. The whole place is a mess inside and out. Very poorly maintained. Rooms very filthy. Paints faded everywhere. Broken tiles inside the Bure. Being a house owner, I can personally say that the whole resort hasn't been painted for more then 10 years. It's definitely not worth the money that I had paid to stay there for 2 nights. Reception closes after 9pm and there is no security onsite. You are on your own after...

“Unfortunately the room had a leaking toilet. No antenna on the TV, therefore not working. Kitchen very small. Room although clean but requires better furniture. Pillows uncomfortable. Ceiling fan not working but air conditioning working. View from bedroom great but water leaking off roof onto balcony making it slippery. Some staff helpful”
