1. When we arrived by 9pm, there was no one in the office and no one answered their after-hour phone. (the check-in time shown on confirmation email is by 10pm.)
2. So we tried to find another hotel to stay in the small and isolated Delta Junction. After several unanswered calls, luckily we did find one to stay, of course with a higher cost.
3. We talked to Alaska Country Inn the next morning, she showed me that our booking was 5/28 in their system, instead of 5/27 that we booked and was shown on confirmation email. She said the the record was sent by Expedia and they have no control on that. She agreed that we can cancel the booking with no penalty.
Overall, it was a terrible and scary experience. We almost have to sleep in the car in the cold and small Alaska town. Something went wrong between Expedia and the Inn. And it doesn't make any sense. I wish I could get an clarification. Otherwise, I won't trust the booking confirmation from Expedia any more.
