Gorgeous lodge in the middle of spearfish canyon. Hiking trails are right outside the door. Originally thought of staying in the town of Spearfish but so glad we stayed here instead. The lodge is about a 15 minute drive into town.

The room was clean and a nice size. We were by an exit door, so it was noisy in the morning with the door slamming shut as people went out to their cars. I hadnā€™t realized when I booked through Expedia that breakfast was not included. We enjoyed using the outdoor personal hot tubs. We also liked that several hiking trails were available right from the lodge.

A lovely hotel in a wonderful setting. No significant complaints other than they did not refresh the room during our stay. Normally hotels will post a notice regarding the frequency of towel replacement and housekeeping. This one did not. The associated Latchkey restaurant had excellent table fare. The staff was attentive but the kitchen was slow. We didn't care as we were not in a hurry. We would rate both at a 9 out of 10.
