Darwin's Most Happening Place

stay in Chillis was good and is a good meeting place to meet people of various nationality. The location is good as it has everything that you need.... transport, tour booking, supermarket, sights, food and drinks. The most happening place in Darwin.

The lack of Power points and the cramped uncomfortable conditions of the beds made this place a very disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend for a long term stay.

This was a well located hostel with lots if food and shopping available close. Some staff were very friendly and helpful while others were not. Single rooms were spacious. Property could use a bit of TLC and it would be really good place.

Typical backpacker hostel

It's a decent hostel on the main street. Have a no alcohol policy which is a bit strange. Rooms and bathrooms are kept pretty clean considering the amount of people. A cheaper option than others, very good if you don't plan to spend much time in the hostel. Staff are helpful, can organize tours or give job leads.

Great and Amazing People Stay There

Nice stay overall. Pillow too soft and water shower head missing at some cubicle. No issue as move to another one. Opposite Coles Supermarket, bars and attractions. Easy to travel around.

Worst hostel I have stayed in

Worst hostel I have slept in in the 8 months I have been in Australia... Where to start... Maybe with the cockroaches and bugs that crawl over you during the night. Maybe with the ceiling fan that was covered in dust. Maybe with the showers that are dirty at night and have no hot water in the morning. Maybe with the fact that if you are on the ground floor you are literally next to an alley where car parks and therefore accelerate right next to you. Maybe with the fact that backpackers here run wild and can play music very loud until veeeery late without being told to keep quiet. Yes it is very well located but it's not worth it. We had a reservation for another night in a few days but we cancelled it and hopefully we'll find something better that this

Budget backpacker

Good location on Mitchell Street. Coles supermarket very close which is handy. Bed is very average, old school air conditioning in room with ceiling fan. Corridor is very noisy in morning, so if you've had a late night don't expect much sleep. Not bad price considering location.

What a disappointing stay

I arrived at 1:40am called the night manager but she was at another property so i was kept waiting for 30 minutes to check in. Once into my room i was met with the next door kebab shop and every drunk on the streets conversations, the air conditioner from the room above was constantly dripping on to the air con unit in my room so that was awesome for 2 days trying to sleep through. the staff have an affinity for slaming doors shut no matter what time of the day or night it is 12am BAM, 6:30 BAM, 2pm BAM. toilets and showers were in the same disgusting state the whole duration of the stay.... avoid this place its a giant rip off!!

Excellent hostel

Stayed here several weeks. Super clean hostel and relaxed atmosphere. Not a party hostel. Great customer service, central location and spacious (double) rooms with air conditioning, fridge + sink & mirror. Good kitchen and jacuzzi-type pools! Noise coming from the streets but can't really avoid that in party-Darwin.

It is what it is, a backpackers. totally acceptable. However my bed did not have any top matters so i could feel the springs, not very comfortable.

Roomstoo tight, bathroom is a geat a van would be fine. Little insects can be there, saw some. Less toilette paper, just in one cabine (4days). I really don't know what the cleaning staff is doing there?
