Beautiful hotel

The hotel was beautiful from the outside and so well kept, food was of good standard as well as the service. The rooms looked dated a bit and needed modernising the shower door was loose and water came out when showering also there nowhere to go outside of the hotel, was very quiet the time we were there but overall was nice hotel.

A jewel in Dar es Salaam

We loved White Sands Resort. We were six people in two one-bedroom apartments with a connecting door, just perfect for us. The kitchens were convenient, however one was not stocked at all and the other just had a few plates and a couple of forks and spoons. We didn't plan to do much cooking so didn't say anything about it, but probably the staff would have responded had we asked. Otherwise, the stay was perfect with excellent air conditioning and two pools plus lovely beach walks to choose from. Breakfast buffet was remarkable and got us started each day!

White Sands Hotel is a fairly large and truly beautiful resort. Not for a single second did I regret choosing this property for my stay in Dar es Salaam. The entire complex is very clean and regularly well maintained, and the same can be said about the room. I appreciated having a refrigerator in the room; however, the overall equipment was rather basic — for example, there was no iron or hairdryer. That said, the balcony and the stunning sea view more than compensated for these minor shortcomings. Breakfast was excellent every morning, offering a wide selection of local, English, and continental options. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. A small downside is the presence of crows, which won’t hesitate to snatch a bite from your breakfast or lunch if you leave your table unattended outdoors. Weekends can also be somewhat noisy due to social events such as weddings held at the resort, which might be slightly disturbing for some guests. That said, I would be very happy to return to this resort on my next visit to Tanzania.

The white sand beach is beautiful but there were lots of trash swimming in the water next to the shore. They had beautiful jetty built that had a staircase going straight into the water but it was closed for the guests’ use, so we had to push floating trash away to get in the water. More than that, we were pleased with our short stay.
