The staff are amazing! So friendly, hardworking and kind. The food was delicious and the coffee choice (cappuccino, americano, latte, expresso) were wonderful to have. Perfect location to walk to Lion Rock and Pidurangula. Just a short TukTuk ride to Dambulla. It was so nice to be able to go for a swim and sit around the pool after hiking. We would love to be able to go back some day!

Short walk to Sigiriya Rock. Hotel staff are sweet and provide excellent service. In my room, air conditioner unit rattled through the night and no warm water from the shower. Otherwise, very good for the price you pay.

Amazing stay in the jungle!

We loved our stay at Sinhagiri villa. The family that runs it are lovely and very friendly. We really recommend the cooking class, that was such an amazing experience. The food in general is super flavourful. The homestay is close to Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala and the hosts can help arrange a lot of different activities. Higly recommend!

A lovely homestay just outside the main strip of Sigiriya. The most welcoming and friendly hosts. The rooms are what you would expect for the price. Nice and clean, air-conditioning. It is in beautiful nature so expect animal noises (peacocks, dogs, birds). We ate both breakfast and dinner at their restaurant Green Hut Restaurant which is next door. The food was delicious and made with organic produce from their garden.

This was one of the most friendly hotels that we have stayed in for a long time. All of the staff seem to have a genuine interest in making sure that we had a good time and made the most of our stay in Sigiriya. They also organised a couple of trips for us - to Polonnarua and an elephant safari. The first of these was a fascinating day visiting a former capital of Sri Lanka and the second was an afternoon seeing more than a dozen different herds of elephants, some of them just a few metres away from us. Both of these trips were excellent value. However, what makes this place Extra Special is certainly the friendliess of the staff. And the home-cooked food is also of excellent quality. For such a warm welcome this place is very good value and highly recommend recommended

I probably would have stayed elsewhere had I done more research. Room had the bare minimum: 1 towel, 1 very small bar of soap. Neither bed had a comforter and only 1 very thin sheet; I had to sleep with a sweatshirt on because there is no way to adjust the air conditioning. When I first flushed the toilet there was a very large cockroach (or beetle). There was an uncomfortable amount of flies when trying to dine in the kitchen/restaurant area, which made lunch unpleasant. I understand where we are in location flies are a given, however this was above average. All in all, I wouldn’t stay here again and would rather pay more to stay elsewhere.

Very charming hotel in the jungle very close to Sigiria. The Family who runs the hotel was extremly friendly and helpfull, and served the best Sri Lankan food we got on the whole trip. Would definently recommend this as a place to stay to visit Sigiria or the area around.

We really enjoyed our time at this villa near Lion Rock. It is a ten minute walk to the rock and we were very happy with the cooking class we took with the owner. I highly recommend booking here - it was a much more personal experience as opposed to a big resort.

Had a great stay. The hosts were amazing and very hospitable, providing juice on arrival and breakfast in the morning. Would definitely commend! Very small issue; could use some more plugs in the room to charge devices, but not major issue at all.

Please, all foreign tourist stay away from this hotel. We have had a racist encounter with the hotel manager The hotel does not have hot running water and the air-conditioning does not work The hotel falsely advertises on all platforms that the rooms are clean hot water is provided and air-conditioning is working. This is not true. Please can you avoid this hotel. Please do not make the mistake of giving them a Benefit of doubt. You can visit this property at any time to inspect it to see it malfunction

Aufgrund der positiven Bewertungen haben wir uns für die Sinhagiri Villa entschieden. Leider waren wir insgesamt nicht zufrieden, haben unsere Eindrücke aber erst nach Vergleichen mit anderen Unterkünften in Sri Lanka bewertet. Unser Zimmer war dunkel und durch die Anordnung der Betten im Zimmer sehr eng. Schwierig war auch, dass es im gesamten Zinler nur eine Steckdose gab. Das Badezimmer wirkte abgewohnt, das Fenster ließ sich nicht schließen, wodurch viele Moskitos ins Zimmer kamen. Warmwasser war nur eingeschränkt nutzbar, da der Abfluss verstopft war und wir das Wasser nicht länger laufen lassen konnten. Dabei wurden mehrfach Tiere aus dem Abfluss hochgepumpt – unter anderem ein Frosch und Kakerlaken –, was sehr unangenehm war. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte zunächst nicht, wurde aber später repariert. Die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich, aber es lag eine größere Sprachbarriere vor. Probleme zu adressieren oder Tipps zu bekommen, war daher gar nicht so leicht. Positiv hervorzuheben ist der schöne Pool, den wir oft alleine nutzen konnten. Insgesamt würden wir nicht wiederkommen. Wir haben in Sri Lanka günstigere und deutlich bessere Unterkünfte erlebt und können diese Unterkunft daher nur eingeschränkt empfehlen.

La disponibilte du personnel vraiment tous très gentils. La piscine est belle et la vue est magnifique. Levér de soleil tres sympa en direct de la chambre. Chambre tres spacieuse. Hotel a 10mn a pied du centre ville. Au calme. Le petit dej est tres copieux et bon.

Great place to stay!!

We stopped here on an overnight stop off to climb Pidurangala Rock. We checking nice a quick and were shown to our room. Nice and close to both rocks, even when my partner fell and hurt her ankle the lady who worked there tended to it for her which was lovely!! Thank you!!
