Madame Rêve is an extraordinary hotel and was one of the highlights of our stay in Paris. The historic former post office is magnificent, and the designers have done something difficult exceptionally well: preserved the character and history of the building while creating rooms that feel sophisticated, warm, modern and unmistakably Parisian. Our room was gorgeous—beautiful herringbone floors, rich wood, leather and marble, thoughtful architectural details and furnishings, and an incredible bathroom. Everything felt considered rather than simply “luxurious.” Even the hotel’s signature rose-and-cedar scent is beautiful and adds to the sense that every detail of the experience has been deliberately designed. The rooftop is spectacular. The panoramic views across Paris are genuinely breathtaking, particularly at night—you can see Sacré-Cœur glowing over Montmartre, the Eiffel Tower illuminated in the distance, and the rooftops and monuments of Paris in seemingly every direction. The sauna was another wonderful surprise and such a luxurious place to retreat after spending the day walking through Paris. Most importantly, the staff were exceptional. Everyone we encountered was warm, gracious, attentive and genuinely helpful. The service was polished without ever feeling stiff or impersonal, and the staff made us feel incredibly well cared for throughout our stay.
