I had checked out early from another hotel and not only they allowed me to drop off my luggage but got my room ready earlier than their check-in time. When I left the next day, they called a taxi for me to take me to the airport. EXCELLENT SERVICE!

The staff were very welcoming and helpful; however, the room did not appear clean. The bedsheets and covers looked worn and unclean. The shower drain gets clogged every time someone showers, and it takes time to unclog.

We stayed in the Azul room with balcony, which was nice. Although we could hear people in the hallway and going up the stairs, we didn’t hear anyone else when they were in their rooms, not even the family with a baby. Breakfast was simple and a nice way to start the day. One problem with our room was a broken latch on the balcony door, so we heard street noise all night. My only other criticism was the $15 charge for pickup from the airport, which is less than 5 minutes from the hostal. We also had to leave at 6am, and the receptionist said she arranged a taxi to pick us up, but after waiting until 6:10, we finally walked to the corner and hailed our own taxi. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

They advertise on Expedia as self parking with a maximum cost of $6 per day, but then when you get there you find out that if you move the car in and out during the day then you will be charged the garage’s regular rate of two dollars per hour and so they tell you if you buy parking slips from one of the vendors on the street and take your car out of the garage by 8:30 am and park on the street then it will only cost you one dollar for two hours. Then you wait until 8 pm at night to put the car back into the garage where you can then leave it until 8:30 am again at $4 for the night. The garage is owned by a separate company that wants to make regular money during the day and it has only a few spaces so they would prefer if you remove it during the day. So overall you are spending your whole day trying to manage your car and looking for parking. There is a sense of desperation and lack of finances. On Sunday morning there was a change of staff who arrived late to make the breakfast and acted like they did not want to be there.

Very average basic property with thin walls so could hear lots of noise especially in the morning. Not the cleanest either. Staff are helpful booking taxi for us and also doing our laundry for $10. Breakfast also basic, with bread, some fruit and eggs. It is far from most things, we had to take a cab regularly. Decent Artisanal market close by.

They had 24 hour service, however I had to wait nearly an hour to enter my room, bc they were sleeping and didn't hear the phone calls and banging on the door. 3 stars, I know may be too much. but they were apologetic and cordial

Directly in Cuenca el centere. Perfect for walking. Go to the street vendors and grab some authentic Ecuadorian street food in the evening. Very friendly staff. Building was well kept and clean though a bit noisy. Beautiful old hardwood floors announced every visitor. There is on-site parking for about $4 overnight. A lovely light breakfast was provided
