Staff very good, and friendly. Food good. Hotel in need of refurb, looking dated inside and room sadly wasn't very clean. I was only staying for 1 night, so didn't want to ask to change rooms and bed was clean. Shame, as this was the only thing that let the place down.

Cowes break

Fabulous stay as always. The staff are friendly and accomadating. Hotel is in prime position in Cowes. As a family we are very fond of this hotel.

Difficult review. On the one hand, perfect location, great view, good bed, very helpful staff and nice food. On the other hand, the room was very uncomfortable. Unbearably hot with windows that only open a crack. Very low sloped ceilings in about half the room (which was already tiny). Okay if you're under 5 foot five. At 6 foot 2 my partner hit his head several times, jarred his back ducking to avoid hitting his head and had to bend over backwards to use the toilet. The room was very grubby, peeling paper, plastered holes, bits of mold, a cupboard that opened into a roof cavity full of insulation and dust. If we'd seen an accurate picture we wouldn't have booked. We booked months in advance for a discount and we know this is a budget option but really those loft rooms are not suitable for anything beyond a single night stay at best.
