I had flight delays & had to cancel my first night stay. I contacted Expedia in their app. After 15 min back n forth I was told that I couldn’t cancel and would be charged. Ok- I can’t get there but will be there on my scheduled second night. Upon my arrival to the property I was told that BOTH of my reserved nights were cancelled. I told the front desk receptionist, “ok, well I need a room.” She looked at my nonplused and stated that I would need to make a reservation. “Ok, can I make a reservation with you?” to which she stated yes. As she’s tapping away on her computer she looks up and tells me “looks like we’re all booked up for tonight.”
I was too tired to argue. I walked next door to a Marriott property and slept like a baby after a long day of travel.
I just started a new job and will be traveling 200 days a year for work. This was my first time using both Expedia & staying at Hampton Inn.
I won’t be using either for the next 199 days of travel.
Some lessened have to be learned first-hand.
