AWFUL, booked this hotel for an anniversary through Expedia, we drove a 5 hour round trip only to be told on arrival that our booking was cancelled, no apology or resolution offered, so had no choice but to leave, then waited over 3 weeks for a refund.
Great stay again! This was my mine and my girlfriends second time here now and had another amazing time. Will continue to return yearly for the foreseeable future.
Absolutely amazing place to stay . Quirky decor. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. Food was fantastic. We really couldn’t fault it at all and will return in the Summer.
We really enjoyed the ambience and our stay here, such an exquisite hotel full of character and art. The dinner and breakfast was amazing which has a limited menu but very well done. We wouldn’t hesitate to go back !
We had a lovely stay! The food was fabulous, obviously.
We wondered around the next morning and enjoyed the views. It was exactly what we needed and more.
Had a a lovely stay even though it was only for a night. Our time here was relaxed and our room was warm and inviting. Food was lovely although would have liked more choice on the menu for Dinner and Breakfast. Extra costs for drinks and dinner supplements were quite resonable. All in all a great break in an absolutely beautiful hotel which was warm clean and beautifully decorated to a high standard. Staff were friendly and attentive and chatty about the local area. would recommend to anyone for a night or a few days break and I will be back with my girlfriends for a girlie Birthday treat and with my hubby for a nice anniversary or night away stay. Excellent Hotel.

Disliked: Staff & service
Unsafe slippy unlit paths to shepherds huts.
Try to charge extra items for breakfast when included in the fee.
Comfy beds and lovely fire when we got it lit.

Quirky value for money
Delighted to revisit the Rudloe Arms with its eccentricities, it’s amazing artwork and ‘Mousey Thompson’ furniture, and of course, the fabulous food. This has to be the best value for money in Britain’s hotel industry. Sure it’s quirky but is very casual and relaxing too. I look forward already to my next visit.
We had a great stay. Our dinner was excellent & we couldn’t fault a thing.
Our room was in the annexe and was lovely, clean & a good size.
The main house is full of interest art, photos & antiques.
Only negative was the damp/fousty smell in the entrance & lounges.
This wouldn’t stop us returning which we definitely will do!
Shepherds hut stay was an amazing experience, the wood burners inside and out were a lovely addition. Food was good but found the menu disappointing particularly when it came to the puddings
Amazing value.
I realise that marco piere white owns the hotel and the expectation is Michelin dinining. But how can you expect to stay in such an amazing place and get dinner and breakfast for about£160?
Definitely recommend.
