We stayed 3 nights at the Belvedere Lodge. We were a bit put off initially by the busy road right in front, but the Lodge is set back enough that it's not a real issue. Sandra greeted us at the door, and helped us up to the upper floor with our luggage, which wasn't light. The room was spacious, with a nice view of the back garden, which was full of blooming roses. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom very nice as well. The icing on the cake was breakfast. There was always a buffet with cold cuts, cheese, breads, cereal, juices, etc., and tea or coffee. In addition, you could order hot items from the kitchen. On the first morning, we opted for the full Irish breakfast, and it was delicious and highly recommended, at least once. On our 2nd morning, we went a little lighter, and it was still lovely. I think the only drawback is the distance from downtown Cork, but there are multiple buses that stop right in front of the Lodge, or if you have a car, there are parking garages in the city proper. Despite that, I highly recommend this place, and would definitely stay there again.

What a find ! The staff were friendly & helpful.the room was large, well equiped and spotless.(& warm) if we wanted to grumble the matress was too soft for us but really the breakfast chef deserves a gold medal.the dining room is lovely , buffet was great but the cooked breakfast was really wonderful.we'd been travelling for a month & had been subjected to some horrors so well done !
