The building itself is quite unique. The hotel was nice but the rooms were very dated and the bed was very small (smaller than a queen). There are lots of great restaurants in the neighbourhood. The pool was a highlight. Staff were friendly and helpful.

One of the best rooms we’ve said at. Room was great, especially the bathroom. The fridge and safe were available and we felt very secure staying there. Also closeout to shops, the cathedral and train station. Highly recommend it.

Maritim is a great place. Good hotel and really good location close to the city centre. One recent change is that they now have wireless phone chargers in the room that is an excellent addition. If there was something that could be improved, I would like some firmer pillows. Not a major complaint, just would be a comfort improvement for me. Either way, I will always stay here when I am in Cologne for business or for pleasure.

A great stay. Helpful welcoming staff. Sauna and pool were great (but perhaps need a more obvious translation of rules of German saunas for nieve Englishmen). Excellent buffet breakfast. Hotel is brilliantly situated to explore old town. Even lower cost rooms have a nice aspect, I imagine Rhine river view rooms are stunning.

Clean, comfortable room. A slightly noisy air conditioner but we were happy to have it act as white noise as the hotel was (unexpectedly) smack bang in the middle of Koln Pride festival! Having said that, the hotel had good sound proofing so we managed to sleep - even with a kid! Good breakfast, nice shower. The pool was tiny so couldn’t use it to exercise unfortunately. We had a pleasant stay.

Room was a very good size with nice balcony and city view, but the room itself very dated like it’s stuck in the 1980’s and the aircon was just like having an oscillating fan will no cold air at all and it was 38c in Cologne so we had to keep the curtains closed to stop the room becoming a sauna, rooms and corridors have a very musty smell too, breakfast was nice but full as only open half the room around the food buffet area and the pool was nice but again dated…part of the draw was how lovely the piano bar looked and its closed for the summer, staff where very helpful
