We had a lovely big comfortable suite overlooking the cathedral. The hotel is in the centre and very convenient for shopping, dining, sightseeing etc. The reception ladies were friendly and helpful. The underground parking had many free spaces maybe because of its high cost of €32 per day. If you would like to avoid the traffic noise and tramps going past, must close the balcony doors, but it wasn’t an issue for us.

Gorgeous room. Great view. Comfortable bed. Great location. Really enjoyed our stay despite a couple of downsides: We needed a bed for a teenager, despite impressions from our booking that it might be a proper bed, it was a cot that was rolled in. incredibly long time to get hot water in bathroom, very wasteful. With all the restaurants in the hotel, it would be nice if there were a place just to get coffee in the AM.

The hotel is superbly placed near the centre of the old town with its own walkway ( over the busy roads ) to the banks of the Rhine . We were very impressed by the grandeur of the interior and tge room was very spacious and comfortable . Unfortunately tge pool was extremely small ( more of a plunge pool ) not suited to providing me with my daily swimming exercise routine which required a length of 25m.

We decided to finish our road trip and gig of bands I've never heard of, but the younger generation knew who they were, with three days in Cologne. We booked the Maratim Hotel due to the location and how it looked. The hotel was very clean and the staff very attentive. I did think that the car park, which was located under the hotel, was very expensive, but that may be because I'm a Yorkshireman
