I really like the location of this hotel, it's 5 mins walk from the train station and the massive Cologne Cathedral, there are a lot of shops and restaurants near by, I never had to interact with anyone, just using my code to get inside.... highly recommend this for anyone.

Perfect central city location, right next to the cathedral and train station. Modern room, clean, comfortable beds, kettle and small fridge, modern bathroom and WiFi. No manned reception, but very responsive via email when we had a query. 5 flights of stairs to our room, so do be aware! Would recommend. Only small problem was shower pressure/temperature was intermittent at times.

The automated check-in needed a bit of guesswork. Got my code after two attempts but when I tried to use it, it wasn't clear that I needed to press the "tick" key after entering the number. The basin plug wasn't working so I had to use my own. Room was a bit cramped and wakward to move around in. Otherwise a pleasant stopover, at the end of a day's journey by rail from London. Hotel was easy to find, clean, well equipped and beautifully renovated.

In theory it was great, my friend and I were only there to go to a concert and were taking the train back home at 6:45 the next morning. The location and simplicity of the hotel were greatly appreciated. But the only thing that I have to complain about was the smell of our room. It had a very strong smell, particularly in the bathroom. Other than that, the stay was great and getting to the train station quickly was also a benefit!

Fine for one night but very bright

It was somewhat difficult to check in though not a huge deal. The issue was a “two person bunk bed” was actually just a double bed where me and my friend did not plan on sleeping in the same bed. Maybe I misunderstood what bunk bed means. The other big issue is the room faced the busy Main Street which is fine and happens but there was a VERY bright light shining in with nothing close to resembling a curtain that stopped much light. It was very bright in the room. Room was very clean, great bathroom and great location central to the train station but at least for that room a better curtain is needed

The beds are 2m long and the bottom one is closed on both ends. If you're tall (I'm 190cm, 6'3"), you can't really stretch out. It's not as restricted on the upper bed if you let you feet hang off the end. The shower doesn't have anywhere to put your soap or other supplies. The supplied body wash and shampoo bottles are clearly meant to be hung from the wall, but there is no place to hang them. The only place to put them is on the floor. Automated check-in was simple and quick.

It’s a staff-less hotel so there is nobody to help if anything goes wrong. Their self check in machine is meant to print out a 9 digit code that gives you access the building and your room, but it didn’t have any paper. The room advertises tea and coffee, they gave me 2 coffee pods and 2 tea bags and didn’t restock when doing room service. The advertised breakfast is really just pointing you towards a local Starbucks.
