Very Good

This traditional pub had a nice large room with loads of rustic charm. The staff were brilliant and the breakfast was amazing! For the price it was well worth it.
Such a beautiful and cozy place. All staff were polite and very helpful. Food was lovely. Room was beautiful and very clean but... there was a steep and awkward staircase to get to the rooms which wasn't mentioned in the pre-booking information. We saw several people struggle with this, as did I. It wasnt a dealbreaker but i feel its worth mentioning. Also the double bed was so hard neither of us were able to sleep much, and had achy joints the next morning. Overall, it is a lovely place to stay and eat and we were well looked after, but these two things are the reason for a 4 and not a 5.
Charming building from the 15th century, with features preserved. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Food was excellent, with superb local ales! Plus, it’s dog friendly and ample parking for residents. Highly recommended!
Check in was easy, arrived and the staff were very friendly and engaging, got shown the room which was beautifully presented.
Had dinner, the food was delicious, service was excellent , we had a few drinks and went to bed, had a fabulous nights sleep in a very comfy bed.
Had breakfast (which was included) and I couldn’t fault it at all, all in all, had a wonderful stay and would very highly recommend.
Fabulous traditional country hotel with excellent accommodation and top notch food options. Very convenient if you're intending to walk to Flatford Mill where the Haywain was painted - it's a 45 minute walk alongside the river. Staff were very friendly and helpful and even managed to find me the right sized Alan key to unscrew my camera's battery compartment!
Very Highly Recommended
We had a really lovely stay here. The room was lovely and a good size, comfortable bed and great amenities. The bar and restaurant had a great atmosphere and the food was really nice. We thought the breakfast was a continental only but its not, and they offered a great range including full English, so that was a nice surprise and made the overall price even more value for money. We would be happy to stay again.
Stayed at the Marlborough for one night. Room was comfortable and clean, nice bathroom with very powerful shower. We ate in the restaurant and found the food very good value with excellent service. Breakfast was also good (the "Big Breakfast" lived up to its name!). Will definitely be back.
Lovely building and room with great staff and really good food. The only slight downside was the noise in the room overnight, as the charming-looking windows are gappy.
The Marlborough is a pub with tasty food and about five rooms for overnight stays. The staff is outstanding and does everything possible to be helpful. It is on a central street of a very small town, so it can be a bit noisy during the day and early evening, but is quiet at night. The rooms have nice versions of all the basics, including a good bed and excellent shower. There are few extra amenities beyond the room and pub, although the breakfast was very good. For a longer stay, the room had only a few hooks on the wall, but the owner immediately provided a long rack with hangars on request. It is a short walk to several tea shops, a grocery store, and the Assembly Hall and church. Overall I felt very well looked after during my two week stay for a workshop.
Lovely room - it was well equipped and great location. Disappointed with the customer service - did not feel valued as guests - from a perfunctory Manager to bar staff that did not even look up from washing glasses whilst waiting at the bar. This is down to training and never went beyond the minimum customer service. Shame as the room was excellent but customer service let it down.
