Comfortable respite!

We arrived after driving 800kms. The room was very large and comfortable. Great aircon thankfully (40 outside). A 1 minute walk onto the Main Street of town and surprisingly quiet.

Apart from the lack of advertised inclusions, soap in shower and handbasin. No crockery or cutlery. It was mainly clean . Not recommended for more than a single night. The little Thai restaurant down the road was great.

This was a miners lodge so was full of workers. Room was clean and bed was comfy. I had to keep going to reception to ask for things that hadnt been put in the room. Overnight one person attempted to get in to the room with their key. I'm guessing a wrong room as they went away when we shouted at them. We then had cleaners attempting to get in several times from 7am despite check out being 10am! Not a safe area for 2 females travelling together.

It did have a kot if traffic (semi trailers) passing closeby. I enquired at re eption about further travel and road conditions and other information. The receptionist was unable to answer and dudnt offer alternatives. I ended up going to the lical.police station. The room was clean, in good condition, had a decent refrigerator and all in all was great.

Listing on wotif showed bar, bar/lounge for food and drink and room service --- There is none. The receptionist was generally disinterested. The room was part of a pair of rooms and an adjoining door had no lock and was secured by placing a table in front of the door. The room was tired and badly in need of refreshing. The room was clean, and the bed good, but otherwise was undeserving of a high rating. Wotif should review this listing for honesty.... it is false and misleading.... that is unacceptable. If you are desperate for accommodation in Cobar - its ok, but they need to lift their game. We would recommend planning your trip to skip overnight in Cobar.
