I stayed 7 nights here, which by the sounds of it, is unusual. I get the impression that people normaly one or two night. Very friendly staff and for the first two days, was reminded to contact them if I needed anything. After the first two days, I didn't see any staff members to ask, but there was a phone number provided to call. The reception area was never manned. The rooms are reasonable for the price and was given a choice of two - room 2 or room 7. I chose room 7, as it was on the shaded side of the building, so was cooler during the very warm weather. Unfortunately, my room was cleaned and the towels changed only once during my stay, as was the tea and coffee provided in the room only replenished the once. Also the walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything from every other room. As for parking, you can park right outside the entrance of the hotel since the hotel sits within its own grounds. However, during my stay, there were a lot of very large events (wedding receptions) in the Marquee that sits not attached, but to the side of the hotel, which means parking directly outside of the hotel becomes impossible, forcing you to try to squeeze in somewhere among the wedding guest cars. The overspill car park is on a field at the bottom of the hotel driveway. By the time I got up in the morning, mine was the only car parked in the area. The events can be noisy, but the events generally end before midnight. The hotel should reserve parking places for hotel guests

This an impotant historic property with fabulous grounds but has been upgraded to a clinical level. Very clean but no soul. Needs aome fwminine touches. Shelving, pictures, hooks etc. No retaurant facilities or breakfast. Basic but adequate

There was very little staff available on the night, there wasn’t an option for any drinks or a bar no restaurant. The room was cold, radiator took ages to warm up and windows didn’t shut properly. On the morning I left I was met by another member of staff who was clearly on something. I should of spent an extra £10 and stayed at a travel lodge.
Also found a packet of mouldy biscuits in the drawer unit next to the bed

To be the fair this property is undergoing major renovations- and my experience takes this into account as well as the cheap price tag My arrival was quite late but I was greeted and checked in as one would expect. I was shown to my room and became quickly aware that it was very basic and smelled of stale cigarette smoke with tell tale burns in the carpet and fa butt hiding in the kettle.. I was too tired to make a fuss and battled through the night reasonable well until woken by the building site next door, then the window cleaners came and I hit the shower which was hot for 2 mins and then solid cold whatever I did. I dumped my key and ran for the potholed drive . Lesson learned.

The house keeper was really lovely and did a great job setting up my room which had not been sorted despite arranging early check in. The views are lovely around the grounds and I slept well in my room (number 2). It was spacious and comfortable. My only suggestion would be that as you guys don't do breakfast, I would give it a try. I think your guests would really appreciate it.

We were expecting a lovely country house with spa in a quiet location. We were not told that there was a wedding taking place right under our unglazed windows, the spa being a hot tub outside and the reception being a man in a tracksuit who had to be called to attend to us. Completely unprofessional. So bad we turned and walked back out. Disgraceful

When we arrived the room wasnt ready and there was linen and crockery on the check in desk.. totally in disarray! The room was ok, in their haste, they must have forgot to dust the bedside cabinets or clean the toilet and when i mentioned the toilet on going out, it still hadnt been cleaned when we arrived back later in the evening. There was no one to check us out and ended up just leaving the keys on the bar sink... There was a nice room overlooking the grounds and a marquee which looked nice. It could be a stunning venue but needs a lot of love and attention

Poor quality and service!

There was a garden party on and our room was facing it. Even with blind down and window closed the disco lights beamed through the blind and the music echoed around our room. There was only a used bar of soap in the shower with a hair on it. No tea/coffee products to use the tea/coffee facilities. Only one towel despite booking for two adults and the one we did have was tatty and worn. On check in, we were informed that the key to our room had been stolen and therefore they unlocked and opened for us but stated that if we needed to leave the room, we had to let them know.

I booked a room in this property and was phoned an hour or 2 later to say it was double booked. I was then told that they had an annex down the road that I could stay in, I asked what it was like and they said it was comfortable so I drove to the lodge to be met at reception and was told to follow a guy to the annex, I was expecting to walk but then had to follow him in my car where he took me to the gateway crossroads in Cleckheaton which looked like a drug den it was disgusting, I asked him what it was and he said it was more like a HMO. Needless to say I refused to stay and ended up staying at somewhere much more expensive but nicer. I am extremely disappointed with the Gomersal lodge and found their treatment disgusting.

Apart from my room which was warm and comfortable but lacked a bath towel, with only a shampoo and a very little round soap being provided, the whole place seemed sad and lonely. The Reception was poorly lit and signed, and was cold and damp; I appeared to be one of only two guests staying on the Saturday night and the guests in the room next to mine kept their television on until 5.15am and periodically seemed to drop something heavy on the floor. I was much later arriving back, after my orienteering run, than I had intended, as I got lost and spent some four hours finding the hotel again, meaning I only got to bed at just before 2am on Sunday morning, instead of around 11pm on Saturday. I appreciate that the guests coughing and having the TV on was not the fault of the hotelier but was the final straw. In the advert, on your booking form, the hotel was stated as having a restaurant. It was only when I arrived that I found this was not the case and no food was available, although I was told that I could have toast and cereal for breakfast, as long as I did not want it too early. In the event, I overslept and did not get up until 9am when I ate some more of the cold provisions I had had to stop and buy on my was back from the orienteering to the hotel. I am definitely not a happy bunny about all this and feel that the hotel provided misinformation about its facilities.

when i arrived at the property, there was no staff in sight for around 20 minutes, then when someone came in they could not find room 6 key for over half an hour i was waiting in reception. when we eventually went to the room, we was made aware that the door would not lock as there was no key. therefore we felt unsafe to leave the room, or even sleep in it as door was unlocked all night. when i asked for an extra towel as there was only one provided for 2 people, i was told no, same with the milk after paying for bed and breakfast, i only asked for milk. privacy was terrible as my friend was stood in the room after showering only wearing a towel not even in anybody’s view, we looked out of the window to see multiple staff members trying to glance through our window which was very disturbing and uncomfortable as we are young women in our 20s. overall this hotel experience was the worst i’ve ever had, would not ever return.

Overnight in Cleckheaton

Stayed overnight at this converted country house. Sadly I arrived at night and left before dawn and so could not see the full extent of the grounds or eat in the restaurant. Room was fine for an overnighter on business in this part of Yorkshire.
