Vacations Close To Choptank River Lighthouse

The room was a great rate, I was impressed with our clean and spacious pet friendly room. We did like the location and how it was close to so much. Having a pet area, playground, arcade, gym, breakfast and pool were really great features. The tv had good choices for family during down time. The downfall were the other guests. 2 nights in a row people were throwing parties and blasting music at 3am so I got very little sleep. It smelled like pot and outside there were cigarettes and trash scattered around. Again this was due to the other guests and not the hotel. The hotel was great. I would stay there again. Maybe they can consider an espresso machine for the tired parents.

The room had a slippery area on the hard floor, cobwebs. The one bed was disgusting with a badly stained mattress pad that was seen as soon as the top cover was pulled back. Towels and bathroom floor had black hair on them. The shower curtain had a gross stain of some sort. When asked to correct, two additional calls to the front desk were required. The front desk manager listened to the issues, but said any complaint needed to be made through Expedia.

We stayed in room 416 this time. The bath tub could use a good refinishing. There weren't any lamps in the room so lighting wasn't great. We kept the foyer light on as well as the lights above the bed so we could see. This was our third stay. The front desk staff were amazing and friendly as usual. The bar staff and restaurant staff were also great. Overall, another great stay but the hotel definitely could definitely use some reno.

The hotel is beautiful. We did have a large issue that took too long to resolve and only after my repeated insistence that it be resolved. Other than that, we loved our room, the lobby, and the amenities looked nice although we didn’t have the opportunity to use them.

9/20/26 one-night visit. We were happily surprised with the pleasant staff, clean room, great breakfast, and moderate price. Walking distance to the beach. Will definitely use this hotel again!

Low expectations were not met. This property is a mess. Our 6 bunk room had 1 VERY small table and 1 indoor chair. The outdoor chairs at were dirty and falling apart. The parking area and outdoor section of our "camp site" needed mowing. Goats and chickens roam the camp sites leaving animal crap everywhere that not only gets tracked into the cabins but also attracts flies that are relentless. The cabin (#2) has a loud rattle trap of a window AC unit that is also falling apart and comes complete with a thilthy filter that looks like it has never been cleaned. Windows in the cabin had no curtains or blinds. Bathrooms are gross and the garage was overflowing. Can't say there is any indication that this property is managed by anyone who has ever stayed at a campground. The attitude of those I interacted with was indifferent to the state of the place but they were walking around barefoot (true fact). The goats are a menace and aggressive and should not be permitted to roam free. Liabilities everywhere.
