This is a beautiful boutique hotel. So charming and clean!! Loved the staff, the upper deck, the gift shop and the cute homemade breakfast delivered to our door. It was close to Assateague Island as well. I cannot recommend a place to stay on Chincoteague more!

The refuge lives up to its name; a quiet cozy spot to retreat and recharge. We loved the ponies, big shady trees, and proximity to Assateague. Our room was comfortable and clean; we had a mini fridge and a dehumidifier (critical in this region). I can’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with daily housekeeping and where everything simply worked.

Comfortable bed, breakfast was good, friendly and helpful staff, great gift shop in the lobby, and the complimentary coffee was delicious. Ice machine was convenient to our room. Thankfully a younger guest offered to carry my suitcase up the stairs. I was a little nervous about that but it all worked out. Guests respected the quiet hours. Delicious complimentary sweets at the check in desk were an unexpected treat too! We also loved the closeness of the motel to the entrance to the refuge. All in all, we’re so glad we chose to stay at the Refuge Inn.

Loved the vibe at this hotel. It's clean, the beds were super comfortable and the pool/hot tub was a great activity to do in the evening. The horses on the property really add to the experience. Its proximity to the trail to Chincoteague Beach/Refuge with bike and beach rentals on the premises made it so easy for us to get out and explore the area. We'll definitely be back!

Stayed here last minute after our previously reserved room at another place flooded and closed. The staff was so welcoming and the room was well kept and clean. We had everything we needed. Including a delicious breakfast delivered to our door. The kids enjoyed the pool while my husband and I relaxed poolside. Definitely coming back for a longer stay next time.

I didn't like that the television was located facing a bed but not both of them. I couldn't adjust the television sound on the remote or switch the channels from the bed closest to the bathroom. The breakfast delivery bag was great.

The Refuge Inn is a very special place to stay. It is the closest Inn to Assateague island. The staff welcome you and are so kind and pleasant. The Inn has an indoor pool and sauna. They also have an inexpensive bike rental on the other side of their parking lot. Family run it is beautifully decorated and maintained motel. They have a coral next to their parking lot with pony’s that were once wild living there. You can purchase feed and put it in troughs for them to much on while you take pictures of these beautiful animals. The view from their deck of Assateague Island and the water is lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at the Refuge Inn. I only have good things to say! The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good. Location is great. There were so many little touches that stood out to us, and these things separated the Refuge Inn from other hotels. I highly recommend the Refuge Inn.
