“We have just had a pleasant 2 night stay at Stubley Castle,room was just what we needed very clean with the necessary amenities to make our short stay comfortable,lovely bar area and the restaurant was very good,the breakfast was basically whatever you wanted,we had 2 evenings meals in the restaurant,first one was off the English menu and was ok possibly to much of what we had was done in a deep fat fryer,White Bait and Cod and Chips ,the staff are Indians and really nothing was to much...

“Habitaciones perfectamente limpias. No hay limpieza a diario (ni falta que hace), pero sí te ofrecen toallas nuevas y cualquier cosa que necesites. Obviamente, las instalaciones no son modernas. Es un hotel antiguo, histórico, y ahí radica buena parte de su encanto. Tuvimos un problema con la accesibilidad y lo resolvieron con gran amabilidad y eficacia. El pub del hotel es encantador, y el patio, delicioso para comer o tomar algo cuando hace buen tiempo.”

“On website it said breakfast included also through the Expedia website but when we went to order breakfast we were told it wasn’t included. We were checking out on a Monday morning which I may add is 10am only to discover the Plough is closed hence no breakfast. We had a 2 night stay and our towels or bin wasn’t changed in fact no housekeeping. As I result there wasn’t enough loo roll disappointed with food as only light snacks available when we arrived around 2.30”

“Badic accommodation. Poor value for money. A pub with rooms. You could smell the fried chips when you opened the door in the car park. The staff were jobs worth and not welcoming. Poorly maintained property which felt grubby. My room had a sash window broken so couldn't open it. Only good thing were the bath towels and good mattress. Pillows awful. Make sure you don't have a room on the front of the hotel as the noise from the road is continous through the night. I would not stay there...

“New hotel - nice, clean, newly and tastefully decorated, great location in the middle of Henley-on-Thames, not far from the river. Good breakfast and dinner. Very nice external seating area with retractable roof and TVs to watch sport (world cup was on). Other good restaurants, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s Local nearby. Still need to fix some teething problems - coffee pods and machine provided weren’t matched, no air conditioning in the room (we stayed during a heat wave - electric fan kindly...

“I will never stay in this hotel again. Although inexpensive by Oxford hotel prices, you get what you pay for and it is not worth it. I asked for the quietest room - hahaha. The surrounding nightclubs and the bar below are full on until after 1am! And there is no sound proofing between rooms and I had noisy neighbours too! As you enter the hotel, the carpet on the stairs is filthy and the corridor smells. The room itself was clean enough but no side table and poor quality mattress and pillows. So...

“A nice stay, with a very good breakfast. A few maintenance issues in the bedroom which needed addressing with a paint brush, and some cleaning issues, which were loose cotton threads from the sheets scattered everywhere. Simple stuff to do to get 5 stars, and to ensure standards are as they should be.”

“Beautiful 18th Century pub in quiet village location. Taken to room, lovely decor, big bed, bathroom was a little tired. Shower had no hot water when I tried at 4.30pm, thankfully had some the following morning. Had a wonderful night sleep, a shame some kind of breakfast is not included in the price. Welcoming staff and lovely locals. Would I stay again, yes. ”

The amenities in the room were also good for our needs and really nice having some outdoor space. The on site pub was really nice and cosy with some board games which was nice to spend a relaxing evening playing.
