“The property was close to Bamburgh Castle and Farne Islands that is great in summer for Puffins. We were given the smallest double bed room even though we booked a proper queen room that were available.”

“Room was great with a comfortable bed. No air-conditioning so hot in the night. A fan was provided. Great shower. Breakfast buffet was basic and had to ask for restock as staff not on top of it. Full English breakfast looked OK. This is a pub as well with a predictable menu if you have visited any in the chain. OK for some but not for us. Would stay again just for the room and location. Parking on street or in nearby car park.”

“This is a fabulous hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, very good food, comfortable and well appointed rooms. Great location on the Northumbrian coast in a village which is a delight to walk round.”

“This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night.”

“Travelled with 2 puppies was worried about how things would be. Didn’t need to be worried as dog friendly rooms available & staff very accommodating. Meals served all day & a good variety to choose from. Have booked for close family to stay later in the year.”

“The room was ok. It didn't have air conditioning or a fridge, which is massively inconvenient in the warmer months. When entering our room there was a heavy smell of damp, I checked and there were no signs of damp. When opening the window I notice the curtains and net curtains were dirty, dead flies etc stuck in the net one, not a big issue but it doesn't take much to keep on top of it. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was good. As a basic room it does what it needs to, but I don't...
