Vacations Close To Children's Museum of The East End

The housekeeping staff ruined my stay, and that’s even without using their services at all. I left my “do not disturb” sign up the entirely of my 3-night stay, but everything morning around 8:30 they were banging on my door asking to come in. When I told them each time, I did not need service, I was met with refusal and made to open my door so I could be given a bath mat (which I already had and had not yet had a chance to shower after arriving the night before). The next time, my door was banged on insisting that I need to be give more toilet paper, again, I told them I had plenty. The last morning when I was scheduled to check out, I still was awoken with a bang on the door asking if I was still on the room. This was 9am and checkout was at noon. Overall, this was a miserable experience because of housekeeping not wanting to acknowledge the “do not disturb” sign. I have never had this experience at any other hotel before, so this was truly perplexing.

Appreciated the 3 food/bar outlets within the hotel. The Rum House with it's nightly music and excellent cocktails were a highlight. Bathroom in room was recently refreshed with, but it's very tiny and the half-panel shower allows water to splatter all over the place. Rooms are comfy, but air conditioning unit was loud and leaked water. We did report it to the front desk, but no indication if maintenance ever came up to look at it. Had a problem with the safe, but maintenance was very quick and courteous in getting it fixed. Was disappointed in the complimentary bottle of wine...Gallo. Enjoyed the Bond 45 bar/restaurant, but wish it was open later than 10 pm for a nightcap during the week as The Rum House fills up fast so there isn't always room in that bar to get a nightcap. Guest breakfast upgrade option inside Friedman's each day was a nice option, but the eggs and potatoes need more seasoning. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. The first day, we didn't need the room made up but they did it anyway. The second day we did want the room made up, put out the sign and they didn't do it. One day they made up the room by 1 pm, the next day it wasn't done yet at 4 pm. Also, housekeeping staff was very loud in the halls in the early morning. Hotel guests were constantly slamming their room doors (which seems to happen everywhere nowadays). Guests...do better and don't slam your doors!
