If you want a cosy country pub with a log fire this is the place, the atmosphere was great along with the food and lovely room. I couldn’t fault it, and has now set the bar high for my next country pub adventure.
lovely pub, very quiet at night, great nights sleep on a clean and comfortable bed, shower was best ever, clean, good pressure and nice and hot. Food was great too, dinner and breakfast.
A lovely old 'proper' village pub. Great service and food (just the right sized portions for dinner and breakfast as well. Room was initially warm (we were fine in January without the radiator on all weekend) and the mattress was very soft and bouncy (for us at least compared to what we are used to).
The Royal Oak is a lovely village pub near Chichester. The staff are all helpful especially Rebecca and Erin and the area is very quiet a good place for a rest. The beds are comfy and the breakfast is great.
Nice little place, food was good, shower in room was excellent.
Very small TV, and the bed was a little too soft for my liking.
For a one night stay it was good.
We had a very nice well decorated room, with comfy bed and spacious well appointed bathroom with nice towels. A good place to stay to recharge the batteries. Set in a pretty village and surroundings.
Very friendly and welcoming. Room warm and inviting. Breakfast too late for us so we were provided with a breakfast tray for our room. Would recommend.

Lovely traditional pub
A few bits we were unhappy with and could easily be improved.
Firstly the only toast offered at breakfast was sourdough, which was hard and really difficult to cut. We werent the only customers to comment on this.
The bins and full ashtray we walked past when going into our room wasn't very nice to see.
Privacy was a bit of an issue with a few chairs directly outside our bedroom window and staff members having a break there. I must say the staff were really welcoming and helpful. But would rather not have to pull my curtains to maintain our privacy.
We did mention this when we checked out and was told the staff have to go somewhere which i do understand. But surley there is somewhere else which doesn't impose on your guests?
Also the half used tin of coffee in the room is not what i would expect from a decent establishment. The fresh milk in the fridge was a nice touch though.
The evening meals were tasty and everyone friendly. Thankyou to the lady who sorted our television out..
Amazing area with brilliant walks and easy parking opposite the pub.
My wife & I stayed for a couple of days for her birthday. The room was fine. I was disappointed with the breakfast as you could only have a cooked breakfast. There was no yoghurt or cereals available. I had to ask for orange juice. On day 1 I had toast & honey. The honey was put on the table in the plastic bottle & there was just enough for a couple of slices of toast. The next day there was none. I cannot understand why they could not have purchased another bottle. On the evening of my wife's birthday she ordered the steak but they had not had a delivery so had to order something she was not so keen on. Overall the stay was disappointing.
