Be aware: you are in Japan so room/bathroom are not huge and closet area is really small. If you have big luggage, you will have to store them everywhere.

In the center of Chiba zoo and museum are 10 -15 mins away they have a lot of near by things like shopping dinning Hotels on the old school side but room was clean.
