Nice clean room. Excellent hotel with nice breakfast, and the horizon club was great for tea time and happy hour. The pool and slide is great for kids and adults both, and although the weather wasn’t great, we still got to use it. Hotel is in a great location, close to the night market. Staff was very helpful.

Staff was wonderful, friendly and efficient. Location is near to the night market and a reasonable walk to old town. Good restaurants in the hotel, the buffet breakfast is much better than most Asian hotels that are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay here again.

Kids enjoyed the water slide, however the water was a bit cold during our stay so it limited their pool time. In the room, the beds were comfortable. But our room had an off smell, almost like cigarettes. We were also dismayed about the kids club because there is no sign in sheet, so we didn’t feel comfortable having our kids (ages 3 and 5) stay at the club. We were also excited that the pool had a splash pad, but it was under maintenance for our entire stay (4 nights). There was also no hot tub, which would’ve been nice on colder days.

Hotel is very dated and overdue for a complete renovation. Many features show their age, in the rooms and the common areas. Unpleasant smell in corridors and rooms. We had confidence in the Shangri-La brand name when we booked the hotel, not anymore. There are better places to stay in Chiang Mai. On the positive side the service was good and the breakfast decent.

Ni and the team made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped inside. We had multiple check-ins throughout our stay and little surprises for the kids. We LOVED the pool - the slide is super fun.
