Lovely hotel with very good staff and service. Only complaint would be that light around mirror in bathroom is quite dim and not great for applying make up etc (wife’s comment!)
It is an excellent hotel. Polite and knowledgeable staff. Great food and dining areas. It’s not a cheap hotel but it’s a treat to have hotels like this in a super area in the peaks. Offering a upmarket service.
We will revisit this hotel.
Everything about this stay was perfect, great friendly check in, very nice rooms, really nice evening meal and great breakfast. And every single member of the Hotel Team gave perfect, polite service. Highly recommended.
A beautiful hotel, charming staff, nothing was to much trouble, plenty of parking and huge comfortable bed.It was also very near Chatsworth House,Matlock Bath, and Abraham Heights.A very enjoyable stay.
The hotel was excellent with the star being Kristina on reception who was so helpful & friendly every time we saw her.
The restaurant attached was also excellent, with very helpful & friendly staff too.
If we’re in the area again, we will stay here.

This was our fourth time visiting Peak Edge. It is our beautiful home away from home. Always very relaxing and peaceful, and the staff are wonderful!
The Peak Edge hotel is a beautiful traditional country house hotel in excellent condition with a fabulous Red Lion restaurant. Staff are well trained and attentive. The rooms are delightful and large, all with lovely views given the countryside location.
What a beautiful place to stay! Stunning decor, beautiful comfortable rooms and stunning views of the lush countryside. The fact there is a equally fantastic eatry in The Red Lion joined to the hotel is convienent and superb quality. I would say the prices of the hotel (which included breakfast) is well priced for the quality you get and the same with the food.
Stayed here after visiting Chatsworth House, the staff were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Our room had been upgraded to a suite, which was a pleasant surprise. We ate in the bar, as we weren’t particularly hungry, again good, attentive service, and the bar snacks ordered were very enjoyable. We would return and also recommend Peak Edge Hotel to others.
Lovely venue, friendly, helpful staff. Great location for exploring. We really enjoyed the meals we had in the restaurant. Despite there being weddings happening over the weekend (we weren’t wedding guests), it was really quiet in our room and we weren’t disturbed during the night.
US-style hotel with wide open lobby, spacious rooms and excellent service. On-site restaurant serves terrific food. I have mobility problems and enjoyed getting around with an unusual amount of ease. There was a large function the night I stayed but I was not disturbed. I will stay there again and recommend this hotel.
Our stay was wonderful. Early arrival, we were welcomed in, our rooms were available. Friendly reception. Our rooms were lovely, bed extra comfy. Fresh milk and complimentary water in the fridge. Dinner and breakfast were very nice. Definitely recommended!
Lovely one night stay, hotel is modern clean and has large rooms. The bar area is well laid out. We didn’t eat, but due to its location if you need a meal you will likely end up eating there. Only one bad point is that the pillows were feather and soon went flat, I do wish hotels would have a synthetic standby pillow that does not go flat. Other than that we really enjoyed it.
Great location for short trips around the area. The hotel is a very nice boutique hotel with great amenity for travelers including free EV charging, breakfast and tea/coffee in the rooms. The rooms are large and the beds are really comfortable. The front desk person, Christina is fantastic as are the dining staff. If you come to the area, you need to go hike peaks edge and tour Chatsworth House especially for those Jane Austen fans. I’ll be coming back and staying here.
Our party consisted of 4 couples. We were a lot to cater for at dinner and yet the team looked after us for the two nights absolutely brilliantly. Best customer service I have seen in a very long while. In addition the rooms were well laid out, spacious and really comfortable, and the cooking was first class. Terrific stay in all respects. Thank you.
We had the best stay at Peak Edge. We stayed in the Hardwick suite which was perfect, huge comfy bed, comfy sofa and chairs, balcony window overlooking the lake. Heavily pregnant, I was looking forward to using the big bath which didn’t disappoint. Breakfast was excellent with a buffet and hot menu. We also dined at The Red Lion and the food and service were excellent. We were also offered the option of the food delivered as room service. Staff were very helpful. Close to Chatsworth house which was a nice place to visit before checking in. Would 100% recommend.

Don’t delay, just go….you’ll love it !!!
We went to The Peak Edge Hotel to celebrate an anniversary. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and check in was efficient and friendly. Our bedroom was beautiful, often when you see pictures of hotel rooms and then when you go it isn’t as beautiful……… our room was exactly like the brochure….beautiful! Every detail was carefully and thoughtfully done.
The decor of the hotel is luxurious and special, sitting by the open fire in the bar was memorable. All the staff were professional and helpful, one staff member in particular made our stay even more special ……. Christine, thank you for the chats as you stoked the fire for us. It is staff like Christine that make a hotel a cosy place to be.
The food at the in house Red Lion Restaurant was exceptional!!! Oh my goodness, make sure you don’t eat all day so that you can appreciate the delicious food at this beautiful restaurant. The flavours that they get out of their locally sourced ingredients are just amazing. The breakfast is also absolutely delicious.
As you can see, we really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel, enjoying the staff, bedroom and food. Well done Peak Edge !!!
I booked for 2 Nights for my wife's 60th.
The room was excellent and our first night was very good but our second night was so bad we both decided to leave.
There was a Wedding reception in the function room and our room (115) was close to this event. The noise was awful and called reception to complain. They were very helpful and said they would close the fire doors, which was done and to ask for the music to be turned down, didn't hear any difference. I called reception again to ask when the music would be turned off and was told - midnight. This answer was totally unacceptable, so we decided to leave. I went to see the night manager and told him that having a noisy function so near our room was not acceptable and I felt secondary to this event. This is a very nice Hotel, with a high price but without the noise it would of been perfect.
The Restaurant was hit and miss, our first night dinning was very good but my Steak was very dry and with no taste also very fatty but service was very good. The food on the second was mediocre, service was lacking. Our only breakfast was very good but my toast came after my meal and asked for it twice.
All together Not a good experience.
We also booked for Christmas but on this experience we have cancelled this too.
