we only stayed one night being by the river was great, but they need to update the place felt like i stepped back into 1980 It was clean and the beds were comfortable. Outside by river needs to be cleaned up and the walk way near the river was very unstable....

Old poorly-maintained hotel. Spider webs and dirt and junk on the balcony so we couldn't really enjoy it. Smelly old carpets, holes in the wall, wallpaper coming off the shelf, coffee in the room not cleaned or emptied. Bed was decently comfortable though.

Have been staying for years and will again and again. The view from the balcony is great and the sound of the river flowing is so relaxing. This place is just what I needed to relax and unwind. The atmosphere of cherokee is more laid back than most places and we love it.

The first thing I noticed was how bad the outside looked. There was a huge dumpster in front of the motel. A bag of trash was in the driveway Sunday thru Tuesday when I left. Huge weeds were pulled from the front and just thrown in the driveway making it look more trashy. There was a fence partially torn down in the front and the pieces looked as if they had been there a long time. The grass was very high too. Although I didn’t find any place that looked as if grass was any priority. The carpet was so nasty in the room I hated for my dog to walk on it! There was a large spot of blood on the curtain that was barely holding on to some of the hooks. There was also blood on the bedspread. Under the sheets were nasty stained, old mattresses. They were horrible! The door had a huge gap from the deadbolt to the bottom. I had to put towels in them to block bugs from coming in and light. Now the good: staff were awesome! I loved having a balcony by the river. Also the air conditioner worked great!
