We loved the retro look of the room and the hotel. As other reviewers noted, the hotel is close to sorority and fraternity houses, so there's a lot of party-related noise and activity. Also, the only free parking is on the street, so it can be hard to find a spot. We definitely will stay again because we loved the hotel and its proximity to UVA Grounds and restaurants.

It's very clean and the aesthetic is nice. It's in an excellent location, and the room was very affordable. The only real issue was the lack of basic hotel amenities. The rooms have a fridge, bed, full bathroom, and a TV, and that's about it. I don't need a microwave, but not having any sort of closet with clothes hangers or an iron was a huge pain when traveling for a wedding. The office told us they have a single iron and ironing board for the whole hotel, so while we requested one, we never got it (others were using it). They allegedly have hangers, but only on request, and we were told they had none available at the moment. I had to go buy some at a nearby store. If I weren't traveling for a formal event, this might not have been noticeable. Just keep in mind that if you need to bring something like a suit, you may need to find your own way to iron and hang it.

I was not aware there was no parking so I had to pay about $30 per day to park in a garage. And there was a train that went right behind this property at least 3 times per day. It was noisy and prevented sleeping. If I had known these things, I would not have booked. The staff were very nice.

Very nice hotel central to campus. My only complaint is that noise from the outside. Nice touch that they put white noise machines in each room—they are clearly needed.

The hotel, located within blocks of the university, was perfect for my visit. The hotel was extremely clean and a friendly welcome at the front desk. Train did wake me but added a quaint touch to my experience. Picked the hotel for its unique feel and funky vibe. Loved it and would go back - within my budget.
