Great location, friendly staff and clean room. Only small negative is the AC probably needs updating, we were there in March, no way the AC will keep up in the summer. Overall a good place for the price, will definitely come back.

We had no idea just how wonderful this area and hotel could be! The beauty of the waterway, the wonder of the dolphins and the peaceful quality of the hotel, we loved every minute we were there. The walkways around the water, the dolphins swimming - it was all wonderful. The Shem Creek staff were all friendly and helpful and made our stay great. I found Shem Creek from reading novels about the area and am so happy we decided to visit!

Excellent location! Staff helpful. Would have appreciated the room being swept/vacuumed and dusted daily as there is a lot of sand coming in especially after a day at the beach. We spent 5 nights; sheets should have been changed after 3. Door to the room needs to be redone, needed a towel in front of the door to help with noise and light.

It’s a fabulous location with a wonderful view, clean rooms, friendly, helpful staff, great breakfast options and amenities! You honestly could not ask for a better place to stay! I booked the room for, as I thought, a quiet place to stay outside of the city of Charleston. Shem Creek happened to be the most sought after place in the area. Thankfully, we always found the last reserved hotel parking spot every evening. Plenty of good restaurants, walking opportunities and quick drive to beaches; 10/10 on location. The hotel itself was fine. The outside patio was clean but the inside and rooms only would get a 5/10 on cleanliness. No housekeeping so took care of towels and garbage myself.
