The hotel was in an excellent location to walk every where and there was an awesome coffee shop called Bitty and Beau's just a few doors down! The only issue was that there were stairs in the room to get up to the beds and shower and this was not stated in the description of the property. But the staff was awesome and transported our luggage upstairs and back down for us!

Clean and comfortable. Great location to walk around Historic Downtown Charleston. Friendly and helpful staff. Greeted us every time we walked past the front desk. Our AC went out and staff called for repairs that were fixed within 2 hours. Housekeeping isn’t provided daily but staff still checked to make sure we didn’t need anything. Only recommendation would be a full size mirror in the room. Would definitely stay here again.

This location was absolutely perfect for exploring Charleston! This is not a luxury hotel (you will see tiny things that should be taken care of, like a hole that is patched but not painted) but it feels safe and clean and the staff is nice. Also, we loved that the room was two floors with the kitchen and a secondary 1/2 bath on the first floor---a set-up that works perfectly if you have two people trying to get ready at the same time or two people with different sleeping patterns. I would absolutely stay here again!

Historical, charming. We loved the courtyard -- it was so peaceful & wonderful to hang out with our coffee and tea. All of the people working the desk were a pleasure to chat with and always greeted us when we walked in the door or were heading out. It was easy walking distance to so many great places to eat or drink. Try Charleston City Market, Pearlz & Magnolia's on East Bay, Dock Street Theater for Spoleto Festival, The Black Fedora Comedy Mystery Theatre.

Chose Church St Inn for it's location. Which is next to the Market, and a perfect jumping point for everything in Charleston. We prefer NON chain hotels. Our room was nice, given the age of the bldg. The shower tile in our room was moldy and needed remedial cleaning. There are a lot of small maintenance details that really need attention but were not deal killers for us ( loose plumbing fittings, carpet unravelling at doorways, paint touch ups, etc. Beyond that, the rooms are all a little different and very useful for having time to rest in between activities. The gym was good, there is NO pool, but we weren't in need of a pool. No breakfast or snacks are served there, so plan accordingly. All in all, we would consider staying again, and the staff was SO lovely and helpful. Thank you for that!
