Vacations Close To Central Texas Market Place

Had a wonderful time at Hotel 1928. I was surprised that there wasn’t an area to get ice; however, the receptionist at the front desk was more than willing to go get us some ice. The hotel serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Basserie restaurant. The dinner was good, but the dinner was pricey and the portion servings were small. I had the roasted chicken and for thirty-one dollars that was all I got. The seasoned vegetables were not edible for they were meant to be garnishments.

The funky smell when we opened our room up nearly knocked us backward. It was the only room left so there we were. No shower curtain made a mess on the floor despite all the towels we put down. We notified the front desk right away of this missing amenity…they woke us up at 7am to ask if we wanted them to bring one to us. Uhhh…bit late.

Pros: magnolia cabin is cool and updated, AC works wonderfully and kept us very cool, the pool is nice. Cons: Very unkept, boring property. There’s nothing to do Sunday-Thursday. Cabins are full of ants. Property was not very clean. Arcade was disgusting. Staff is not helpful.

The front desk staff was the same person to check us in and out the next morning. She was very personable and nice. The room was very clean and had all that we needed for our stay. Bed was comfortable and air conditioning was fantastic. Breakfast was fresh and very good with lots of choices and plenty for all the guests. It was a great stay, will stay again for next year's visit to Waco.

I had not heard of this hotel before making the reservations. I was very pleased with the staff, cleanliness of the property and the rooms.
