Beautiful Grounds and Amazing Service/Food!

We love this property, it has beautiful grounds. The service is always amazing and food was excellent. Only knock is the hotel is starting to age, with seats in bar looking worn and bedding worn on edges. Little investment on the fine details can go along way, especially in a 5 star hotel.

Really enjoyed the stay. The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The room was huge and beautiful big bathroom. Food in the hotel bar was really good but very disappointed with the food in the pub in the town that’s part of the hotel.

This place was amazing...beautiful property, excellent service. Valet parking, concierge service....i felt spoiled and pampered. Driver gave us a ride to Hunted Hog for dinner and came back to pick us up. Breakfast was.sooooo good!

Wonderful Hotel Stay

We were made welcome on our arrival and throughout our stay. We decided to stay here to celebrate my husband’s birthday 🎂 My husband was a boarder there in the past and it was so nice for him to visit and touring this hotel. The classrooms and dorm rooms and the old chapel is now a comfortable lounge bar. Our room was really spacious and comfortable The food in the restaurant was amazingly delicious 😋 We have stayed here in the past for a friends wedding and the hotel is top class

The Hotel / Castle Resort itself was marvelous. Our complaints if any are in the food service. Not to a standard that should accompany such a Resort Hotel.

Amazing Quality

Absolutely lovely 5 star experience. The junior suite was amazing. Staff were friendly. Breakfast tasty! Grounds were stunning. Only criticism I would have is the swimming pool. The facilities where disappointing. Very small changing rooms, with hardly no private space to get changed and only one toilet. Pool itself was also small and shallow.

Stayed for 2 nights in this hotel. Was very disappointing no more a 5 star hotel Room was so dated and stains all over hotel room carpet and stains in the bathrooms floors. Not comfortable. Breakfast was awful hot breakfast served cold and long waiting time for service Dinner was ok if you like bones left on your cod dish Overall would not be coming back to this hotel again.

SPECTACULARLY BAD SERVICE AT CASTLEMARTYR RESORT

I don’t recommend anyone going to Castlemartyr Resort - It has lovely grounds and rooms but the service here is very shockingly bad. We were over 35 mins waiting on breakfast after we ordered on our first morning, we had had to ask a menu and for our order to be taken. We had to go chasing food again in the afternoon. We only ordered pizza to have on terrace with our drinks... the drinks arrived in a few mins... 30 mins later still no food! A lot of young staff who don’t seem to know what they’re doing and absolutely nobody managing or guiding them. Dinner on our second night was at best a 6/10... even though after we’d complained and the Guest Relations Manager promised he’d personally oversee it. We’d much better service cos our waiter Dan was properly trained in fine dining, the starters were great, but our ‘medium rare’ fillet steaks arrived ‘medium well’... we couldn’t be bothered changing them. They have serious food & beverage issues here. The room is fab, and the grounds are lovely... but I wouldn’t come back. We know of another guest who ordered soup and sandwiches for lunch, the soup was cold and it took 20 mins to be replaced. We left on our second morning without bothering with the potential stress of breakfast. Certainly not a 5 star experience and I wouldn’t recommend coming here. It was supposed to be a relaxing break for me and my wife .... it was anything but. Almost €700 wasted!! 😡😡
