“Lovely country inn with good food and rooms. Really pleasant staff”

“My partner and me stayed during the first horrible heatwave in June, to get some respite in the AC that was featured in the amenities of the property. Not only was there AC in the room, but also in the pub/restaurant area! It was absolutely delightful - we struggled leaving! The staff were so friendly and attentive; nothing was too much trouble. We were given a flask of fresh milk to have with tea/coffee in the room, and some freshly baked cookies. I couldn’t get the shower to cool down, this...

“We loved this property and area as a whole and to be in Sherborne was fantastic anyway, and so close to the Abbey was beautiful in itself. The in-house staff were brilliant and very helpful too with anything we needed, but I’m afraid the general up keep of the building and facilities in Room 1 (family size) were poor in places like broken fixtures and fittings etc, like the cracked toilet seat lid, the broken (and not working) shaving light and shaver power socket on the mirror in the bathroom...

“I was very happy with my stay. I just feel they need to put a stronger fan in the room, as the rooms are upstairs and has a skylight window, which can't be opened and so the room gets extremely hot in there. The fan they have is not strong enough to keep the room cool, especially on extremely hot days. Otherwise the staff were excellent and the food is simply amazing.”

“We loved it. The George is so warm and welcoming (as opposed to perfect & swanky). The landlady was very friendly and eager to make sure we were happy and that attitude ran through all the staff who were all very kind. Dinner by the river was a highlight. The village doesn't have a lot of entertainment but it's charming and you can while away some time feeding the ducks at the castle (the shop sells duck feed).”

“El estacionamiento está muy incómodo para ingresar. Además cuando entramos no había lugar y tuvimos que dejarlo en los estacionamientos públicos. El desayuno estuvo bien. Te dan un menú y hay algunas pocas cosas para agarrar estilo Buffet. Pero si buscas el English Breakfast vas a salir contento. La habitación amplia. Baño con bañera. Tener en cuenta que hay que subir por escaleras y pasar por el bar que está abajo del hotel.”

“Very convenient for a nights stay. Despite being in a pub it was very quiet. Lovely clean, soft towels and clean sheets . Staff were friendly , easy for dinner and breakfast”
