Warm welcome from the receptionist. The rooms were clean and tidy. Some things around the property were not working for example the toilets and showers. Not enough sunloungers or parasols. It was so peaceful until children were cannonballing into pool. No staff available at the pool bar. Very slow service from the inside bar. Food at dinner was very good quality. Knowledgeable waiter at dinner. Great to be able to play tennis. Lots of parking available. Could have been so peaceful, shame about the guests!

A gem uncovered

What a fantastic place. Somewhere to relax, eat well and recover. Great service at all stages. A modest menu choice wise but excellent in quality, locally sourced products full of flavour. A family run hotel and it shows. The whole ambiance is spot on. A place for the summer, nice pool and gardens with patios to sit out on and enjoy food and wine. For winter I spotted a fab lounge with a big working fireplace. Rooms are light, airy and very comfortable. Small terrace to sit outside.

The location and facilities are good enough. Despite the fact that the Hotel Hacienda has just recently opened, the efforts of the team that you can notice that there are sort of staff there. Special mention to Palma in Housekeeping and Rocio at reception :) Castellar needed this hotel in the new town as there is another in the old town, about 15 minutes driving away. Amenities in bathrooms are on demand * upon request*, but if there are bathrobes, they should be sleepers. We understand that this could be to save costs and not waste resources. Breakfast is good, in a big saloon with courtyard terrace nearby the tennis court and direct access to the pool and Spa. There is no ice cream in the pool bar and if you want a tap bier, they need to go inside the other bar as it seems there is work in progress.
