Loved our stay at Sol de Alba! Tucked away in the heart of Cartagena’s bustling walled city, Sol de Alba somehow feels quiet, calming, and wonderfully secluded. The views are absolutely beautiful with lovely terraces that make it easy to unwind. We especially enjoyed the rooftop pool—perfect for relaxing after exploring the city—and the breakfast was consistently delicious. A boutique gem that blends comfort, charm, and serenity right in the middle of it all. Highly recommend!

This hotel was amazing! The staff was so helpful they literally took me to different stores so they could translate for me I only speak (English) and get reasonable prices because it’s a tourist area. Room service every day, I stayed five days. Great location!!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Sol de Alba. Brand new hotel, the decoration is very tasteful. Thank you Thomas (the director) for your kindness. His team helped us with restaurant reservations, and with a day trip to Rosario islands. We highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was exceptional.It was very centrally located, so that we were able to walk everywhere. It was very clean and comfortable.The staff was exceptional. They were very inviting and warm. They gave us excellent recommendations ,from excursions to restaurants. They really had our best interests at heart, including our safety.I wholeheartedly recommend Sol del Alba in Cartagena Colombia.

Love the staff here! They made me feel so special on my birthday. The food is amazing and the location is fantastic. The room is majestic and we had the luxury of also having a balcony which overlooked the streets of the old town. Definitely would come back here again. ¡Me encanta el personal aquí! Me hicieron sentir tan especial en mi cumpleaños. La comida es increíble y la ubicación es fantástica. La habitación es majestuosa y tuvimos el lujo de también tener un balcón que daba a las calles del casco antiguo. Definitivamente volvería aquí de nuevo.

Overall, the property was clean, and tastefully decorated. The room itself was stocked with lotion, q-tips, robes, fridge, safe - and a welcome candy treat. Nice touch. The daily breakfast, while 'enough' was always the same, and became un-appetizing after the 2nd day of a 7-day stay. Change the menu items. What made this hotel extra, was the staff. Carlos, Alejandro, Jhon, Antonio - and all those whose names I have forgotten. They treated me like "familia." They escorted me at night, if I wasn't quite sure where a place was, offered dining, shopping and tour suggestions. Maria was caring, coming to the room to offer first aid, when my friend hurt herself. And Thomas Dorvaux, the General Manager was always around, ensuring everyone was attended to. First trip to Cartagena, and not the last. I will return to this hotel

Majordomo Rodolfo was excellent and having him give us history and insight to places to visit in the area was truly a blessing. The hotel is central to the city so everything is within walking distance. There was heavy construction during our visit so it was messy once you left the hotel. Great AC in our room and a nice balcony that was shared with the room next door. There is a nice rooftop bar where we had a nice drink one evening. There is also a pool on the roof but it wasn't very inviting. There are rooftop bars nearby that act as clubs all night. Bring earplugs because the loud music won't let you sleep. We were made to feel like we had the hotel exclusively to ourselves. Breakfast was included in our stay. Service was excellent and food was delicious. The entire hotel has a modern design, was very clean, and smelled wonderful. The hotel staff was courteous, pleasant, and always helpful. Walking around can be overwhelming as peddlers constantly want your money. They do not invade your personal space but they are persistent. The city felt safe both day & night. Price gouging in stores is a thing. Street vendors often sell the same items so negotiate with them instead. Taxi fares are an issue. Airport to hotel should have been $8 US but they hear American and double it. Sadly, the $20 fare we paid to get to the port was arranged by the staff at the hotel. Not nice after we left them each tips.

Um dia antes fomos avisados que a rua do hotel estava sem energia. Fomos realocados para um outro hotel da rede. Colocados em uma habitação superior da que tinhamos pagado tanto no primeiro, quanto no Sol de Alba. Além do hotel corresponder as expectativas do que promete. Quero exaltar em especial os colaboradores, que são excelentes pessoas, prestativas, educadas e sempre preocupadas com nosso bem estar. Recomendo aos Brasileiros se hospedem nesse hotel quando vierem a Cartagena.
