This hotel is an annex to the Santa Clara hotel. The room was very nicely decorated with very confortable beds and we had a great view of the old city and ocean behind the city walls. We appreciated being able to use the pool at the Santa Clara as well as the included breakfast which is a dream. There are plenty of options for food and it was delicious, service is superb. We highly recommend.

Overall, our stay at Hotel Bóvedas was a pleasant one. The staff was truly excellent—very friendly, attentive, and easy to communicate with, especially via WhatsApp, which made everything more convenient and seamless during our stay. The room itself was comfortable, though it could benefit from some renovation and updates. We also experienced a few minor inconveniences, such as having only one remote control for two TVs, which required us to call for an additional one. Additionally, the in-room phones were not functioning properly. One concern worth mentioning is that the hallway leading to the room had missing bars on the security railing, which felt unsafe—especially while traveling with a toddler. Despite these issues, the overall experience was good thanks to the outstanding service from the staff. With a few improvements to the facilities and maintenance, this hotel could easily offer an even better stay.

It’s a nice hotel. The picture is misleading as you are staying at the hotel but all amenities like breakfast, gym, pool and restaurant are all at the main property, Santa Clara. This was fine as it is only 1 min away from Bovedas. I like both property , very friendly staff, good service.

The location overlooking the historic Walls and the Caribbean Sea and the barrio San Diego area is beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and allowed early check-in… the customer service was above and beyond.. the restaurant was excellent in the room was huge with a large balcony..Cristian and Luis were very helpful at all times. I stayed at three other hotels in Cartagena in the last three months and this hotel was the best compared to the Hyatt Regency in Boca grande and the Bastion Luxury hotel in Candalaria area.

This property is beautiful. Extremely clean!!!! I loved my stay here. It is very walkable, but not so close to the action that you are annoyed by noise. The breakfast is amazing. I am EXTREMELY picky, and I loved this place. My only dislike is that in the loft, upstairs is hot at night.

It’s my fourth time this year in this property I honestly cannot get enough NOTHING compares to the service here You feel beyond royalty with a lovely warmth of beautiful people always smiling , always kind. Yes, the I installation is impeccable & beautiful and Cartagena is beyond magical but it’s the AMAZING staff of Santa Clara that makes this the most amazing location in the world (to me). The list of outstanding individuals is too lengthy so only some of the perfect staff : Jimmy (el mejor botones del mundo), Adris, Adi, Jose (both), Alexander, Alexandre, Yurainis, Séñor Herrera (main entrance), Jose (both) , Andres (customer service), Luis, María José (jefe), Jesús (maître) and many more!

This place tries to scam you

This place is nice enough if you get the right room. Or if you just get the room you booked. We booked the large family suite with two beds a sofa bed and two bathrooms on the top floor with a view of the ocean. It says so on the confirmation. We Never saw it. When we checked in the were polite and welcoming and escorted us to the worst room on the basement level and said ‘enjoy your stay’. So obviously we walked right back to reception and after some time and a manager they said oh, we are over booked. Wait…now that I’ve said something you admit you knew you gave me not only the wrong room but made no mention of the shift until the bellman took us to our room. Furious. So they could only give us two different rooms for the first night then moved us to the ‘correct room the next day, after 3pm’. Ok we were tired from traveling and we had a morning planned so settled but was promised a credit for the inferior room and the clearly different price not to mention the hassle and con game we were subjected to. Ok. So next day. ‘The room is ready’ we get our keys and we go check it out. A better room. Great view. Two bathrooms. But still only one bed and a sofa bed. It’s not what we reserves or paid for ! They were just so inconsiderate

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Boutique Bovedas de Santa Clara. The hotel is very cozy, beautifully maintained, and the atmosphere makes you feel relaxed from the moment you arrive. The staff provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Everyone was very attentive and friendly, and they even helped us arrange laundry service, which made our trip much more comfortable and convenient. The included breakfast was spectacular, with a wide variety of delicious food options every morning. Everything was fresh and well prepared. Our room also had a beautiful ocean view, which made the experience even more special. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cartagena.
