This hotel was very difficult to find the entrance for. The Google Maps need to be corrected before someone has a wreck. The room was clean, hotel new, beds excellent. The hot water was not hot it wasn’t even luke warm on the fourth floor, I couldn’t run it for five minutes before it went cold. Everything was fine except the water which was very disappointing. If you like great beds and a cold shower this is the place for you.

The internet was not available in the room, called to complain and the staff said there was nothing they could do to help. Said it was because they were too crowded. Pool was nice, did not smell of chlorine, and was a comfortable temperature.

I liked that they have a Tesla charger in the parking lot, although there is only 1 of them. The hotel is quiet and easy to access.

Good clean, nicely finished hotel

Very cleam hotel, modern touches, very new. A good place to stay in Carlsbad. The railing in the elevator fell off multiple times and there were a few other quick finishes that you notice once you start looking but overall bery pleasant and had a pool which was our main reason for choosing it

Location is next to a construction site and railroad tracks. You have to go through the neighborhood before you can get to the hotel. We booked a king size bed for 2 persons but our daughter decided to join us, so I requested for 2 double beds for 3 persons. Nobody from the hotel returned my email and when we got there the receptionist could not accommodate our request even though there's hardly anybody in the hotel. Otherwise, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was good.

It is hard to get to because the direct drive is under construction. It was worth it. Light, bright and open lobby makes you feel good just walking in. Front desk person was extremely helpful and nice. The bed was comfortable. We would go back.

Brand new hotel, only downside is the pool area is not yet finished so the pool is not open. The parking lot is great, getting to it kind of sucks. It looks as though they have an easement to the property by the gravel driveway from the main road, or from the neighborhood area behind. Breakfast staff was very friendly. The evening staff was kind, I guess what an overnight front desk agent is expected to be. Overall good stay for a short, turn & burn trip to the caverns.

This hotel is positioned in such a way that to access it you must enter through a trailer park, which feels uncomfortable and somewhat unsafe. For the first time in many years, this is the first hotel I have seen that has a sign on one of the walls after the business center stating that they are “not responsible for items in the room.” I found this highly ridiculous and concerning, as it reflects a poor sense of security or negligence. In my room there was a light bulb that was not working; I reported it in the morning. During the night, some of the outlets were also not functioning properly, and my phone did not charge overnight. In the morning, I could not find a single outlet that worked. Despite all of this, the front desk employees were very attentive and apologized for what happened in the morning. Thank you for that, but this stay cost money and the facilities need improvement.
This is the sign.
This is the street you need to take to get to the hotel. After the train tracks.

Seems to be new building and still needs to have issues fixed. Room was spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. Hard yo find because we gad to go thru neighborhood or cross railroad tracks on dirt path/road. Bathroom door would not open completely because it rubbed on tile. Blew a fuse in bathroom with only light and hairdryer on. They had a pool but no hot tub. Staff was limited and seemed unexperienced. They were reasonably friendly but I believe that may have been due to guest complaints. Hotel has potential but I think may have opened too soon.

Very Noisy When It Is Windy

Carlsbad is a town of standard hotels, mainly for the oil and gas workers but also for people wishing to visit Carlsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains National Parks. This Best Western is a new-ish hotel built in between workyards on either side, the highwy in front, and a trailer park behind it. If you use a GPS device to get you to the hotel, you will be instructed to drive a bumpy, dirt and gravel road to get to the hotel. Instead, you can drive on to a different street and through the trailer park to get to a paved driveway of sorts that takes you to the hotel. Wonder when they will actually pave what is supposed to be the main street to the hotel. For the most part, the room was comfortable, clean and just your standard hotel room. The staff was friendly. I never ate any of the breakfast offered at 6:30 a.m. The only major problem I found was during windy days (which was basically every day and night), there was something in the building that was apparently not tied down or otherwise loose, because when the wind blew, it sounded like a muffled jackhammer right beneath and to the side of my room. Not even my ear plugs could remove that constant noise. Maybe the oil and gas workers don't mind because they are probably dead tired after a long day out in the field, but families and other travelers would probably get bugged by that annoying noise. Please get it fixed!
