Pleasant overnight stay in a small but perfectly adequate for my needs single room. Central location opposite the railway station in a Victorian grade 2 listed building .Plenty of pubs and eating places nearby ,and supermarkets a few minutes' walk .The English breakfast was good though would have liked some fruit yoghurt as one of the options. The overall charge of £42 for B&B was good value for money. I'd happily stay there again .

It was really good value for money. The staff, party the young man on reception, were friendly and helpful. As a grade 2 listed building the property is showing signs of age and the floors were very creaky. The room was a good size , clean and the bed was really comfortable. The location is brilliant with excellent views from the room. Very close to the station, Citadel and all local amenities. Overall would be happy to stay there again.

Like: location, value for money, nice room, comfy bed, efficient check in, decent shower. Dislike: very minor - takes a wee while for the hot water to get up to temperature. However, this was first floor in a very old building. (Just really a pointer for other travellers to be patient).

Hotel in an ideal location for centre of town, close to railway station. Ideal to walk to parkrun in 30 mins. Dog friendly hotel. Some noise from city centre, but not too bad considering a Friday evening. Bathroom in need of an upgrade but was spotless and did not detract from pleasant stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. Carpark monitored on cctv. I would recommend and definitely return

The staff and the management strive hard to provide an excellent service for all the guests. We have been to this hotel many times before and we were happy to return. Very centrally placed placed establishment, the main line train station is very closeby.

Our room was ok we couldn’t get the toilet to flush properly and the next morning there was water leaking through the ceiling so we had to get moved to another room. The breakfast was nothing to write home about hash browns were soggy and sausages weren’t that great either. The lady that worked in the restaurant was really nice and helpful. You were lucky if you got the lift to work. I wouldn’t rush back
