Staff were excellent the 3 days i stayed there, could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Managed to get a later check out as my flight home wasn't until Sunday night. Would stay there again if I'm down that way.

Booked for the Festival of the Seas weekend, Barry

Don't believe the bad reviews, we stayed in Room 3 outside the hotel, highly recommend. They let us check in an hr early, lovely big room out in the beer garden of the hotel. Very clean and comfortable, staff lovely, will be back!

Very nice

A nice place to stay for a few nights. Beds were not the comfiest, but once you get used to them, they're okay. Staff were nice, and there's plenty of shops nearby for whatever you need.

The room we had was spacious, very clean, decorated in neutral colours and very comfortable. It was lovely and bright in the day and dark in the evening. It was the best night sleep away from home we have had. The staff were friendly, helpful and kind. The facilities were spacious and clean and a lovely hot shower. Highly recomend a stay!

Perfect to get your head down for the night.

You get what you pay for, but couldn’t grumble with the room it was clean and tidy and what I can gather the rooms out the back are better than in the hotel. It was perfect to get your head down for the night and a cheeky pint before heading out for the night.

Had a good stay here, we wanted to stay as the pub is used in Gavin and Stacey, me and my son are big fans, for the price we paid i cant complain, yes the room was basic, but it was fine, we had a twin room, double bed was ok but the single was not comfy, very friendly staff who we met there and a gorgeous cat Norma, definitely would stay again 😀

Swift and friendly check in. The lady was extremely helpful and ordered us a taxi when we needed one. Room was basic but clean and the bed was comfortable. Only problem was that the curtains wouldn't close properly. Would stay there again if needed as it is a good budget hotel.

The Hotel will need some refurbishment and investment. However the room was clean and tidy, bed linen clean and ironed and towels clean. Staff lovely and friendly. Ideal location for an out of Cardiff location . We went to a concert so it was ideal. Would also recommend A2Z taxi service. Well done Barry, nice to see you

Staff friendly our annex was ok had damp in it the hotel/ pub not so nice the locals made it very clear that you wasn’t welcome all we wanted was a quick drink but was told we couldn’t sit anywhere in the pub so it was best we left if we hadn’t gone especially for our daughters birthday and drove 5 hrs to get there we would of gone straight home

Lovely staff, clean, soft clean bed. Needs updating or at least refreshing at least with some paint. For the price can’t really complain but I would rather pay a bit extra to have it refreshed with that paint I mentioned earlier

Clean and tidy rooms. Fast check in and key to let yourself in if returning late. Saturday night noise from the venue below and later in the street outside that woke us up was the only issue and not the fault of the hotel.

Affordable and doable for a night

Don’t be put off by what it looks like outside. It’s a social club that’s tired and a little shabby with rubbish etc outside. BUT, the staff are very nice and helpful and the room (separate building by the car park) was very clean and comfortable, albeit in need of a little TLC (curtains handing down). I have paid a lot more for a far worse room in other places and for what we paid I think it was absolutely fine and for be night, would use it again. Plus, although a club, very little noise.

Not first choice

The room is very basic, but to be expected for that price. The bed in room 2 is awful. Super uncomfortable, was like sleeping on springs. The towel holder fell off the wall when I tried to use it. The carpets could do with a good clean. Very quiet, which was great.

The room itself was ok. It is not luxurious but will do for the night. Needed a deep clean and a new mattress but it was perfectly acceptable for a night. The banister leading up to the top floor well I wouldn’t touch it and not had anyone else in months and someone had written “clean me” on the top floor which hadn’t been cleaned. But for a night it’s acceptable. The staff very very welcoming and friendly.
