Beautiful

My wife and I had a lovely stay at this amazing hotel set in a picturesque location. Everything was perfect, from the friendly staff to the comfortable rooms. The fire in the bar area was welcoming on a cold evening. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. Best scambled eggs i have ever had! Thank you to everyone at New House Hotel.

The staff at check in were very efficient and helpful with a friendly welcome. Our dog had lots of walks nearby as well as within the hotel grounds. The staff at breakfast could not have been more helpful. This is the type of hotel that you would want to return to and look forward to doing so.,

Beautiful rooms and great staff

Fantastic hotel, the staff were so friendly and accomodating. They couldn't do enough for us, and we're particularly greatful for arranging a pot of tea at midnight, much appreciated after a very long day at a wedding. The "standard" rooms are huge, really comfy beds and even had our own balcony - can't imagine how a suite could top that! We would definitely stay again.

Stunning hotel

What a stunning hotel. Spent a single night here and had an evening meal, the food in the restaurant was fantastic, we had a window seat with views over the countryside looking towards Cardiff. Room 1 is a suit, a great size with probably the biggest bed outside of America. We will be back.

Hotel in a brilliant location and with a stunning view over Cardiff and across the sea towards Somerset. The SatNav postcode given in the email confirming the booking through Expedia took us to a point on a road passing over the M4 and somewhat south of the hotel, causing some confusion! Staff extremely friendly, attentive and helpful.

Room was definately not 4*. Only one chair by writing desk. Only one bedside lamp for a double room. Only 1 day out of 4 had hot water for showering. Nice location. Staff very friendly. Food was good.

Very nice room but furniture needed re-upholstering Inadequate lighting over tea making area and dressing table.Nice bathroom but unable to adjust shower which was too hot,Missing bath robes. Sequoias" restaurant "really just the hotel dining room. Food was way below standard,Drinks overpriced. Complained to manager on leaving. Would not recommend eating in the "restaurant" Will not be returning

Waited at reception for a good ten minutes before anyone arrived to check us in even after ringing the bell and phoning them at least five times. Finally got to the room and the key card didn’t work so waited a few more minutes outside the room for them to come up with a replacement (I rang them) The door handle came off in my hand when opening cupboard to get the iron, and finally the bathroom didn’t have any working fans to collect the steam when running the bath or taking a shower it was extremely steamy and overpowering I had to get out of the bathroom. I found the communal halls could have done with a good hoover also. I’d personally give this hotel a 2 out of 10.

Room and property very clean and pleasant, feel like rooms turned over quickly however, dirty cups , milk and water not refreshed, pillow cases not un folded /fitted correctly. Small things but all to the overall feel. Staff on arrival and other times spoke very minimally , gave the room keys , no offer or info about dinner, breakfast or facilites. No mention of internet or checkout times, aware it on the printed key sleeve hut just a strange experience. I did raise some issues (cups and water) and staff were polite and helpful. There was a wedding on when we arrived, it was loud and you could hear the marquee from our room, no one mentioned anything about this to us (although i wonder if this mean food was unavailable and this is why it wasnt offered?) When we arrived all windows etc of hotel were open and main areas smelt of 'fried things' so we didnt ask as wasnt what we expected from the look of the hotel. No mention or apology for the noise. Check out similar to check in, no questions, minimal interaction, took key and told all settled. The positioning of the hotel is lovely and the views are incredible. But i dont think we would return. Nothing 'wrong' just not all we were expecting.

We have stayed here a few times before as we have friends nearby. Beautiful peaceful setting, lovely view from room & friendly helpful staff. It was a relatively quiet weekend, which was nice for a change as very popular wedding venue in spring/summer months. Gorgeous newly refurbished bathroom with bath & large walk in shower. We felt the bedroom was tired & pretty gloomy unfortunately. Lighting was poor, hopeless for makeup and furniture in need of TLC (and a good dust in places). TV was a nuisance - kept cutting out. We reported it a couple of times, but when v helpful staff came it decided to behave, so we gave up! Breakfast delicious & plentiful. Veg sausages available on request, but they were literally full of vegetables rather than a meat substitute, which isn’t really what you want for your breakfast. Overall a good stay, just need to get room up to standard of the bathroom as def mismatch & frustrating for guests. Thanks to lovely staff as ever - an absolute credit!
