Very average experience

Not a place I would stay at again. The first room I was given had a strong smell of smoke despite being smoke free hotel. I was then given an executive room on the second floor which was far better. Cleanliness was good but the whole place apart from the breakfast and bar needs updating. Staff is nice and accommodating.

Overall very good

It was great. We really enjoyed the room, breakfast, and we went in the pool before we checked out. The pool was a bit cold. Most of the staff were great except for the lady who checked us in. She was terrible.

We stayed in a family room, two adults and one child, and there were only two towels and two cups in the room on arrival. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable for my son to attempt to sleep on. Three of the lamps in the room didn’t work.

Rooms need ripping out and modernising.

The staff, reception and restaurant is top quality. BUT the room I was given was very neglected. The tiling in the bathroom was hilarious- if there was any more silicone used around the bath, there would have been a severe UK shortage. I don’t know what the other rooms are like but I paid too much for a run down room. The hotel would have potential if the rooms were renovated. Looks like they had some cowboy builders in at some stage.

The location was great, as well as the staff and the food/drink quality and selection. Regrettably, the facilities are very dated, and below the standard I’ve come to expect for a Holiday Inn. I’d certainly stay again, mainly because of the staff making me feel welcome, and the quality of the food and drink. However, the rooms are dated, heavily lacking plug sockets, the WiFi doesn’t reach a lot of areas of the hotel, and the facilities in the room feel ancient. For the price paid I would have hoped for a better standard of room, but aside from this I had the same great Holiday Inn experience I’d expect.
